Highly unlikely any damage will have been done so long as it hasnt been in use for a long time (weeks).

In a front loading washing machine, most of the mechanicals inside are held between springs at the top and dampers at the bottom. The transit bolts are used to minimse how much movement can ocour whilst the machine is in transit as excessive movement could damage the springs/dampers. When they are removed, normal movement of the mechanicals helps keep the machine stable and minmises vibration.

So, the worst that happens when the machine is used with the transit bolts in place is it vibrates alot, and possible moves about.

Remove the bolts as soon as possible and it should be fine.

Should just be able to use after removing the shipping bolts. Recently had a customer purchase a used washer that was being sold because the unit was always out of balance. Shipping rods had been left in for 4 years. Removed the rods and viola worked perfectly.

I recently used my washing machine with bolts in place, made about 3 loads now when I discovered the bolts were supposed to be taken out before I could use the machine I find 2 bolts broke inside the machine as per attached photo... now am wondering if the screw head left inside the machine won’t cause any further damage

Left screws in the back of new Zanussi washing now it wont spin

It must have broken some plastic off inside or may have jammed the belt mechanism. Check the belt and suspension/mounting.

Brand new washing machine - have only used once and it moves and jumps around ALOT !!! Is there something I need to remove from the machine before I use it.

If you have not already done so, then you must remove the transit bolts located at the rear of the washer.
There is usually 2 or 4, and they are clearly visible, it should tell you in your user instructions.

New Simpson Top loader washer very noisy/rocking

sounds like you havent undone the transit bolts- theyre on the back of the machine, 2,3 4 maybe five quite large obvious bolts, around the drum but on the back. they are to keep the drum steady while in transit to stop the machine bouncing around in the van - you are unlikely to have damaged it - Undo these bolts - they should be mentioned in the manual-

Forgot to remove shippping bolts before using machine.

I would take out the shipping bolts and then run a prgram such as Spin.with no clothes in

If that sounds ok, wet a few towels and spin them dry

If that works put a full load in and go for it

Unless your machine was way out of balance you should not really have damaged anything.

The transit bolts are there to stop the drum from banging around during transit and unless they have torn free or have bent you should be ok

Brand new washing machine wandering on spin cycle

It sounds like the transit bolts or some of the packing is still in place. Running the machine with these in place can do serious damage.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

Hotpoint washing machine vibrate/oscillates violently when on spin mode. Installation instructions tell you to adjust the feet, which I have done. I have also tried different sizes of load - no difference...

have you removed the transit bolts? this is the usual cause of violent vibration. if not, do not use the machine till this is done as you can cause a lot of damage

has the transit brackets been removed, these are bolts that secure the drum while its being moved, failing that this could be a call out under guarantee, the bolts and location of where they are etc are in the instruction leaflet and differ from machine to machine etc
