Connectingit hooking it up

The exact list of parts for a dishwasher hook-up would depend on the existing plumbing and electrical . There are three hook-ups needed; a hot water feed, typically from under the sink. A Tee is installed on the hot water line with a valve, and the hot water line to the dishwasher is connected to the valve. A drain line from the dishwasher is installed under the sink. It connects to the sink drain. The Electrical connection can be made using the appropriate electrical cord.
There are specific guidelines and considerations on how to connect the drain line under the sink, and what is required for the electrical hook-up. If you do a search on "how to install a dishwasher" you will be able to find extensive information.

Grohe drain stopper installation

Try cleaning drain with a length of wire. Strip insulation back about an inch. Turn exposed wire back to form a hook and put down drain and spin, then remove from drain, repeat until hook comes out fairly
clean. Then put drain cleaner down drain, follow instructions with drain cleaner. This should remove gunk that is preventing stopper from working correctly.

My dishwasher isn't draining. The garbage disposal is hooked up separately.

Is sink drain line clogged?
Disconnect drain line at sink tailpiece and lower down to see if water inside dishwasher drains.
Call serviceman to clear clog in dishwasher hose, or repair dishwasher pump motor.

MOTOR RUNS BUT DOESN'T **** THE WATER DOWN

If it is brand new, there is a plate that needs to get knocked out of the disposal where the drain hooks up. Remove this metal plate, hook up the drain and away you go. Unless you forgot to hook up the air gap, that may be causing you to have a vacuum effect which will not allow the water to go down, or lastly, you may have a clogged drain past the disposal which you may need to snake out first.

Dishwasher drain hose.

Its ok to hook to the sink drain but an air gap should be inline with it to prevent sink water from backing into the dishwasher.

Drain line attachment

It is better to have it hooked to its own drain with a airgap.  Hooking it up to the disposal can create a cross connection with the potable water supply.
