Question about NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router
Is this a new router that has not been configured? If you cannot connect to it even with a directly connected ethernet cable, try resetting the router to factory default values. You'll need a paperclip or something similar to push in the reset button on the back of the router for about 20 seconds.
You can view more documentation for your router on netgear's website.

YES> If you will install a router into your network, it will share the internet conenction among the two computers. Both wireless and wired. So the connection will be from
Modem ----> Router (wireless/wired capable) ------> PCs (two Pcs both the desktop and the laptop
and you can also add up another PC if you want to.
