Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor
Whypaythem is correct. The bad capacitor is C862. It is a 1000uF, 25volt electrolytic. I replaced it with a 1000uF from Radio Shack. Works like a charm. It was harder taking the plastic case apart than replacing the capacitor.

You may see very faintly that there is an image. The inverter or the filter capacitors are likely culprits. Open up the back of the monitor to get to the circuit board and if the capacitor is bulged out on top or leaking from the bottom, it is bad and needs to be replaced. They can be found all over ebay for under $5 with shipping per 5-10 caps. Hope this helps
