Our sun rite tv screen shows smudges how to clean

Most of these sets the outer part has a coating like on a old camera lens--any harsh or chemical cleaner discolors it--it is permanent damage and just the glass cannot be replaced as it is part of the front screen unit called a display panel.

IPod Video 30 G display problem

sounds like you need a new screen, go to an apple shop and if it is still under warranty you may get it fixed for free. It sounds like it might be cracked. call Apple about this and get their advice, if it is more than two years old without warranty, I would get a new one

I have a dark shadow square 3"x3" in the upper left corner of my screen. Any thoughts on the cause of this?

Darkness in the display, specifically a localized discoloration is a fault in the display/monitor itself. If there was an issue with the motherboard or graphics processor, it would affect the entirety of the display.

The display is obviously still working aside from the dark spot, but this is often an indicator that entire display may soon fail.

I have an HP DV 9700 and recently the lcd display is showing discoloration around the edges of the screen showing up as kind of grey on an all white background. The cursor shows up ok across those areas...

The display is dying unfortunatley. The laptop is about 2 years old? You can connect an external monitor to confirm. If teh external looks fine, it is definitely your display.

If you have a warranty, it shoudl be covered. If not, might be best to get a new laptop. Netbooks are faily inexpensive.

Hope this helps. Please comment and rate :)

My Wold double oven is giving me an F 1 display

HI. This is possible defective door latch mechanism. Check the wiring that links the door latch mechanism to the actual control board. If the wiring is ok, and the rear of the control board is not discolored, or showing signs of short circuiting, replace the door latch assembly. This will correct the issue.

Now, if the wiring is worn, or burned at the control, and the rear of the control board is discolored, and is showing signs of circuit failure, you will need to replace the main control board and wiring harness.

Discolored strips across top of screen.

If they are pink or blue stripes, I have seen this before. I hope the TV is less than two years old, because the optical block has to be replaced. The optical block has a two year warranty on the part, but you will have to pay labor. Just to double check, make sure you can see it on all inputs and also that it shows up on the menu and on screen display. If yes to all of these, it's the optical block and no adjustments will help. Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
