Probally a diaprahm in your head is probally bad this can be checked by your pool store for you. Fourteen months is a short life for this and too much suction will cause this or you may just have something stuck in the diaprahm. For this you can just look down the throught of the unit and reach in with a long sitck or the like and see if you can feel anything in there.

G3 head makes humming sound & doesn't move, why?

There is either debris in the diaphragm or the diaphragm is worn out.

It's the yellow flexible part that creates the pulsing action for this vac.

I have an Easy Set and using a skimmer. Should I remove the extra intake hose?

Huh?
i am confused... What does a hose have to do with the ability of the pump to move water?

Suction of a pump has nothing to do with an extra hose.
Suction ability has everything to do with whether a filter element is clean or dirty!
These toy pumps have an exceptionally SMALL filter, and need cleaning or replacement OFTEN!
The suction action of a pump should not change, with the attachment of a skimmer: unless... The skimmer is higher than it should be and sucks air, therefore the pump will lose prime!
If you comment back with a little more detail, somebody will be glad to assist.

Pool skimmer has too much suction after changing to PVC pipe.

if you only have a skimmer and no valve to direct suction from the skimmer to he main drain, you will nee to down size your pump, i suggest a hayward 3/4 hp super two pump

My pump is running and water is returning to the pool but there is no suction.

Are you saying there is 'no suction' or there is 'little suction'? If your pump is running and water is going back to the pool, that water is coming from somewhere ... probably being pulled from the pool. Is this a new pool? If not, did it operate properly last year? Are you getting air into your system?

You don't say much about your pool ... is the suction line attrached to a skimmer? Two skimmers? Two skimmers and a bottom drain? Attached to the bottom drain? I don't understand why you are reporting no suction since there is a discharge ... Is this pool in the ground or above ground? Do you have one circulator pump or do you have multiple pumps? If you have two skimmers and are trying to vacuum, close the shutter on the other skimmer or put a plug into it. Make sure the plug is the proper size, you don't want to get the plug pulled into the system!

Perhaps there is not enough suction for you to vacuum? If your suction is attached to several points in your pool, can you cut back on the other ports? For example, if you are drawing from the bottom and a skimmer, can you shut the bottom drain off?

Have you checked your impeller for hair clogging? What about your filter, if sand, have you back washed? What is your discharge pressure? If DE, how is the DE doing? Might it be due for a change? If a cartridge filter, is your cartridge clean? Of course dirty filters will cause high pressure and poor flow of water. If your impeller is clogged with hair, that will impede the flow of water.

Fill in some of thedetails and I will continue to try to assist you. Thank you for your interest in FixYa.com

Zodiac G3 stopped traveling even though there is good suction.

There are several things that you can check on these pool cleaners if you are sure that the suction is not a problem. Normally, I would start by suggesting you check for blockages and obstructions in the cleaner, filter, and skimmer. However, if you are getting the correct suction, this shouldn't be a problem. I would also check the diaphragm for damage. To adjust a worn diaphragm, loosen the cassette swivel, gently push down on the the inner pipe, and retighten the cassette swivel. Check all hose sections for leaks by lifting each section above water.

Our Zodiak G4 pool cleaner is not pulsating. We followed the owner's manual to clean the unit. We checked to ensure that our pool, filter, etc were working properly and were clean. We used the pool...

If the cleaner is not pulsating then either you don't have enough suction or the diaphragm is bad or clogged. (if you have WAY WAY too much suction the diaphragm can stuck collapsed, or a hose can crimp. this will also cause it to stop pulsating.) It is very common to have a **** or tear next to or just below the plastic retaining ring that holds the diaphragm on the inner cassette tube. Also check and make sure there are no holes or breaks on the hoses. When you check the suction with the pool pulse, make sure suction not too high or too low. If the suction is too high it will usually pulse very very rapidly, but sometimes the diaphragm can get stuck as mentioned above. If you have proper suction, and the diaphragm is fine then it will pulse. the only other possible problem is the the cassette assembly could be damaged, or cracked. Hope this helps. If you need further assistance post a reply in the comments, and don't hesitate to leave good thumb rating if you found this helpful. Thanks, and good Luck!

Good suction, no blockage in hose but very little vibration and it does not move. Cannot see anything but daylight through the cleaner itself. Help!

With cleaner underwater, check suction at bottom of cleaner. If good, then remove diaphragm and check for a rip or tear. If suction low at pump and good at skimmer, check the hoses.

Zodiac Barracuda stops moving

Depending how you hook it up to the pool you need to be sure it is getting enough suction. If this is a dedicated line be sure that the valve is going all to the cleaner and back off till the pump quiets down. If you have it running through the skimmer be sure the dirveter valve is set to the proper suction and if you have a skimmer plate be sure your main drain is plugged off. Also check in the cleaner again. Things can hide in the diaprahm so be sure to use something that will let you go all the way beyond it or take apart to check if you have to. Good luck.

G4 is only moving intermittently. It doesn't seem to have anything stuck in it. What should I do?

First pull the unit from the water and use a long probe (screwdriver or the like) to be sure their is nothing stuck inside it. Then if you run it through your skimmer plug it straight into the suction pipe of your skimmer, or if you run it through a dedicated suction put all your suction to that. If this fixes it you need to adjust to the right setting. If not with the pump off pull the basket on your pump and reach into the impeller to see if something is plugging it. You can use a screwdriver or a long nose plier for this. And of cource check your baskets and filter before you do this to be sure they are clean. I hope this helps and good luck.
