Sounds like you need to do a restore from itunes.It will restore your iphone factory settings and you lose all saved information. Try holding the lock and home buttons until it restarts first.

Do a soft reset
Hold down the 'home' and 'power' buttons simultaneously till the screen goes black and you see the apple logo again ... that should fix it .

Hello, Firstly try holding the power and home buttons until the apple logo comes up. Wait for your iphone to start then try again.
If this doesn't work your iphone may be bricked.
If it wasn't you that caused the problem and your warranty hasn't expired you may be able to take your iphone into an apple store or where you bought your iphone and get an exchange.
You should be able to restore your new iphone then

Try and restoring your iphone whit itunes if your iphone is still stuck in the apple logo you should get it checked because you will be having a hardware issue and not a software problem send it to a expert iphone repair centre i would advise to send it to www.E-Repairs.co.uk
Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it. Reset
To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears. if it still gives you problems then you have a hardware issue, apple won't touch a jailbroken iphone so hopfully you have the apple care protection. Restore it to factory settings and try to take it in for service.
its not a hardware problem brothe as i am also facing same problem...actually it all happen with jailbreaked iphone...ad i'hv checked its deep root directory there an application called "lockdown" is the main cause of that...nd still there is no crack of that..... two days back i unlocked my iphone 2g it was working properly before that i was facing the same issue as you are facing....but now again it went to the same problem.... i hav a temp solution of that... use blackra1n u can find it from blackra1n.com nd for few seconds slide to unlock will work or u can use it by connecting it with ur itunes ...connect usb wire nd slide it again nd again...u can unlock it..bue its just temp
