I recently have purchased a new computer which come with the Vista window, and I tried to install my creative lab webcam model VF0050 but Vista did not take it. Does Creative Lab have the updated webcam driver for running window Vista?

I can´t not believe how irresponsable could Creative be!! I´ve searched everywhere and it´s not only that we can´t upgrade our VF-0050 for windows vista, even if you have an XP version, it says there´s no more software available for your camera! I´m sorry you didn´t tell me my camera will only be useful for 2 years!!!!! Creative: you´ve got to resolve this if you wanna keep your products selling! It´s not everything about the quality, you have to support your costumers!

I had the same problem with the vf-0050 on a win vista x32 PC. I Downloaded the latest XP driver from creative and installed it. THe camera works fine with MSN messenger and skype. I'll have to wait and see if it works with x64 as well.
Hope this works for you.

Aha! I have found a simple solution. Try to install using the setup.exe inside the CD's folder and wait X out then wait for a window to come up asking "Reinstall using Reccomended settings or This program installed correctly" hit Reinstall using reccomended settings and it should install correctly. (No side effects known at this time)

Creative will not be releasing a vista driver for this model of webcam. However, the XP driver does seem to be detected by Vista. Here is what i did. Download the XP driver and install it on a XP based PC. Now, there should be a folder called "Webcam Live!". Copy that entire folder and paste it anywhere in your Vista pc. Now go to device manager and update driver for the webcam. Browse to the folder that you had pasted earlier. It should install.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Need drivers webcam for windows 7

Currently there aren't any drivers for your computer with Windows 7. Dell only offers drivers for your computer with Windows XP or Windows Vista. I would try using the Creative Labs Webcam Driver they have for Vista. Since many things about Vista & 7 are similar, often the drivers for Vista will work with Windows 7. Go to dell.com, enter the model of your computer, choose Vista as your operating system, then go to Input Devices, choose the Creative Webcam and download the driver to your desktop (I suggest against using Dell's Download Manager, just download via your browser like you usually would). Then install the driver. With any luck your will be up and running with your webcam.

Practical to use VF 0080 with Windows Vista ?

Just plug it in and see what happens.

Vista has a lot of drivers integrated.

If not try using Windows Update.

You might get lucky.

Change of operating system

That particular webcam has been retired from Creative Labs for some time now. I checked the manufacturer site as well as driver guide in hopes of someone creating a Windows Vista driver. Unfortunately there was nothing available.

The biggest problem with Creative Labs is they have Horrible Horrible driver support. I remember the nightmare of getting the drivers for my Audigy Sound Card replaced.

If you want to try to get it working follow these steps, in this order:

1) Plug in the cam and see if Vista will autodetect it and set it up.
2) Try using the Windows 98 drivers (probably won't work but you can try, stranger things have happened)
3) If one of those 2 steps allowed the cam to work, just find yourself some webcam software. (2 Free ones off the top of my head are Fwink and Yawcam)

If neither of those options work, you'll have to go and replace your webcam. I would recommend staying away from Creative Labs. I've got a great Logitech Cam (Mine does HD Quality) that I purchased for about $80. It's called the Logitech Quickcam 9000. It does a beautiful job and it comes with everything you need to get started. There are cheaper models available that will work equally as well with Vista. Check your local computer store.
