Re: Clarion ADX 5355 Addzest, fm freq won't go past 90,...
This is a unit for the japanese market and they only use bands 79 to 90. You can install an FM band expander, available on Ebay for about £5, and get loads more stations. The expander is easy to fit if you can get to the back of the radio, it fits in the aerial lead and needs a 12 volt connection. Some people reckon they work well others don't rate them, probably worth a try at the price they are.

Each microphone has a different FM Freq. If you can not find a Freq there is a very small hole in the mic near the Mic switch. You will need a jewlers screwdriver to make a freq. adjustment. Hold down the applause button while very close to your FM radio. Use manual tuning on your FM radio until you hear applause. If there is a local station playing on the Freq you can insert the jewelers screwdriver into the small hole and change the FM Freq for the Mic. You only need to make "fractional adjustments" to change the Freq. setting. Once you make a mic freq. adjustment change the radio freq SLIGHTLY up and down until you hear the applause.
This should get anyone going that is having difficulty with this microphone.
I might be able to help you with this. The Addzest Navigation system you have is similar to the Clarion NAX9500E. I have some bits off an Addzest NVA9400F and I bought a second-hand Clarion NAX9500E sat nav system. I have pdf's of the Clarion system that would enable you to get yours running. I was able to get my Addzest system running but it is all in Japanese and I don't think you can change the language unless you know more than me. I hit the reset button but still in Japanes. That's why I got the Clarion system instead and salvaged some of the Addzest leads. My email is email@example.com if you want me to email you the user and wiring intructions for the similar Clarion Navigation unit. It is a pitty that I wasn't able to use the Addzest navigation system but hopefully I can still use the 7" monitor.
If you still have the Addzest equipment I was wondering if you would sell me the lead that connects the 7" monitor to the Navigation sytems as I wanted to use that it as a rear monitor.
Hope to hear from you on what you decide as I haven't had much luck finding a lead for my monitor as the Clarion one is the same size but different pin configeration
To adress your first problem i would suggest disconnecting your battery and then reconnecting it, this should trip the radio and bring it back to default settings. As for the second question, Yes you can play your mp3 player with your car radio. There are differnt ways you may approach this, i woudl suggest buying a radio connector that will boardcast its own frequency from there you will be able to switch to that cannel and play. If this is not the case please write back and i would gladly help.
Please post what you do and how you did it
I look forward to your posts
