SOURCE: Thermastat on LG Split system

The star with a face is sleep mode, each time you press it you will see a 1 then 2 then 3 up to 7 appear in the lower right corner of the screen. This means that the unit will operate for 1 or 2 or 3 hours then switch off. The house with key if pressed will give you the actual room temperature assuming the remote control is in the same room. It will return to setpoint temperature in a couple of seconds. The triangle with face is termed "Chaos mode" The unit will stay on a preset temperature probably 18c but the airflow will vary and the louver will go up and down irratically or randomly, as it tries to immitate a natural breeze. The fan only button will put the unit into fan mode (no compressor driven cooling), the fan icon with circle around is for fan speed which goes up each time it is pressed. Hope this helps.

Paula, remove the cover of the thermostat and look for a model number. The actual thermostat may have to be removed from the sub-base to find it. There may be either a long line of pins on the sub base that matches up with holes on the back of the thermostat when you re attach it....or there may simply be a 3" long ribbon connector that makes the connection.

Once you have the correct model number call Honeywell Customer Service at 1 877 841 2840 and work your way through the menu until you get to 'if you a homeowner push this number'. Once in touch with a live troubleshooter, they should be able to assist you in programming. You should know what kind of system you have, gas, electric or heat pump heat with central air.

You MUST have the correct model number BEFORE you call.

When I turn on my heater it cuts off before it reaches the temperature it set for.

wonder if the thermostat is out of calibration? some older thermostats (mercury filled switch type) must be installed horizontally leveled. draw horizontal line with the aid of a level. align markers in base of thermostat to the drawn horizontal line. or you can try a different thermostat.

Fan will not cut off

Janet, the problem most likely is not in the thermostat. It is probably the fan relay on the circuit board in the furnace. Some furnaces have an individual fan control board, some furnaces have all the controls integrated within one control board. If your furnace is 20 years old or older, it could be the fan/limit control because at that time all furnaces did not come with a control board. If it is much older than 20 years, it is much more likely a stuck fan/limit.

Everytime i hook ipod upthe powere cuts off

Possible that the ipod is giving some errors like a high input which is not matching to the amplifier and so make the protection cut off.
Reduce the voltage of the ipod, connect the ipod using a cord that has a impedance matching circuit to the input of the amplifier.
if you are using the earphone output to the aux input it is a mismatch, so the impedance must be matched with a resistor network.... converting a low to a high impedance.

Removed honeywell thermostat from new home to install a new honeywell programmable thermostat. Couldnt get the new one to work so reinstalled the old one and it wont work. Checked breaker already, cant...

Do you have a model number for the new and old thermostat? Do you have a split system? This means you have a heater in the house and a condensing unit somewhere outside of the house. Let me know if you have a packaged unit or a split system and we can go from there. I might just be a blown fuse on you board, but I need to know what you have so we can start to trace things out.

Six wire hook up and new thermostat has only 5

Some thermostats have an extra terminal for an outdoor sensor which tries to anticipate the need for heating or cooling. If this option is not present, you will have an unused terminal which may have a shorting link to a neighboring terminal. Your installation instructions should mention this if the option is or is not included with your model. Also, heat pump systems vary in the system control voltage and not all thermostats and systems are compatible with the more common split system thermostat.
