Water leaking from underneath the dishwasher....

I have a Hotpoint, model number says HSD3607x00ww, but I can't seem to find any reference to this model online....
I took off the two front bottom plates and located the leak. There is a plastic part attached to a long spring that kind of resembles a throttle on a car. It's when this "throttle" is pulled down by the spring (for about 5-10 seconds) that the water leaks from in between this piece and a big white plastic thing with hoses plugged into it which it is connected to. Does anyone know what this piece is called and about how much it can cost? Also, would I be able to replace it myself? I think I would have to remove the motor assembly (I think that's what it is...a metal box with a fan inside of it...) to access this piece.

Jackie, It is probably a seal(gasket) leaking, you may want a service tech. to have a look.

I have a error code on my Hotpoint FDF 780P code reads A-10 can I fix this?

Please refer Hotpoint dishwasher error codes listed on this site.

Code A10 seems to indicate some problem with water heater or circuit involving water heater and thermostat. These are not easy to fix on your own unless you have some experience with repair of dishwashers. Some tips on fixing this are given here.

Hotpoint dishwasher 4th & 6th lights flashing

You will need to provide the model number of the dishwasher. However, the likely causes of the lights flashing are many, including water inlet failure, blocked drain filter, leaking seals causing flood switch to trip. You may want to go to the Hotpoint site and find the manual for your model.

Hotpoint built in dishwasher model no BF72 switches on for a couple of minutes then bleeps and showes error E8, can you tell me what the problem is. Many thanks Phil

This seems to be the "anti flood" device at the base of the washer is triggered due to water at the base of the washer. This safety device consists of a polystireene float and a micro switch that detects water leaks/spills and automatically puts the washer in pump out mode. You need to find the leak (hose or clamp)dry the base and rectifythe leak it before the washer works.
