My computer is very slow in responding if I switch between applications and very often gets hung up with a note "Windows Explorer is not responding" and I have to restart. I have tried to reset my Internet Options previously. Thanks for the help!

Give us the amount of ram memory you have and the number of processes running. Ctrl + Alt + Delete will bring up the task manager and this will show processes currently running, this will tell us if you are having memory issues, a processor issue or malware/vurus issue.

I would download something like malware bytes and run a full scan. This software is free to use for scanning but if you want real time protection agains spyware or harmfull sites you will have to purchase it for about 30 to 40 $. Again, this software is for spyware and malware and not really a virus protection substitute. you can go here to get it.

Tip

How to force quit uncooperative programs on a PC.

Have you ever encountered annoyingly slow or freezing programs that will not quit when you try to close a window? There is a simple keystroke you can use to quit the programs:Ctrl+Alt+Del. This enables you to access the Task Manager. Task Manager keeps track of all the computers processes as well as the CPU usage and physical memory and can be used to monitor and quit unnecessary programs that can slow or freeze your computer. You simply hold all three buttons (in sequence) and you will be redirected to a different screen that gives you options. Look for Task Manager. (note: If you have Windows XP, Task Manager will pop up as a window). There are 6 tabs (Applications, Processes, Services, Performance, Networks and Users). We will only cover the Applications tab.Once you are in Task Manager, click on the applications tab, if it is not already showing. You will see the titles of programs you are using, if any, and its status (running or not responding). If a program is not responding simply highlight it, by clicking on it and clicking on the button at the bottom labeled "End Task".This should force quit the program(s).

New purchase?

If 'Internet Explorer is not responding' there can be many reasons why. It may be your internet connection is very busy and slow. It may be your computer is running slow. Do a Google search for 'broadband speed test' and see what speed you are getting. If it is less than 4 Mb/sec you have a slow connection. Try getting your present computer running at its best.
Delete all unnecessary software and old emails
Run a hard disk scan and de-fragment
Run a good anti-virus and spyware check
You can get 1000's of suggestions for the 'best machine'! But I guess on a new machine you want a proper keyboard, a reasonably sharp screen. PC Pro Magazine recommends ASUS Transformer Book T100 Windows 8.1 for 290 pounds, (400 dollars) as a Budget Buy and 5* rating.

My internet stops responding and it dont work well slow is not the word i would use try fix it as well as anything else i can think of any other help would be great

It could be a case of that you have an add-on that is not up to date try updating all your add-ons by clicking tools at the top of your internet explorer and select add-ons it will load with a list of add-ons attached to your internet explorer and should show you all the add-ons that are out of date, If you update all your add-ons and I.E is still running very slow then try to upgrade the I.E you are using for EG : If you are running I.E 8 upgrade it to I.E 9 ( Please note that I.E 9 is for Windows Vista up). If all this fails try using the chkdsk feature that comes built-in to all windows. To do this is easy I will tell you how in case you do not know.

1. Open up your start bar or Start orb.
2. Scroll up to programs
3. Left Click Accessories.
4. left click dos shell.
5. Type cd\ ( Please note this will take the directory base level or C:\ )
6. Type chkdsk /f and press enter.
7. You are now checking your Hard Drive and Windows Registry for problems and telling it to automatically fix them.
8. You will get so far in to the test and it will report that it could not complete as windows is being used and will ask if you wish to run this test when your computer restarts type y for yes and press enter and the dos shell should close by itself if it does not close simply click the x in the corner of dos shell window and restart your computer.
9. This will intiate a blue screen similar to a setup screen and if it finds any problems it will fix them for you and generate a report on what it has found and fixed, Your computer will continue to start up as usual from there and hopefully this has solved your problem. If not please refer to your computers manufacturer for further technical assistance. I hope this helps.

How much memory does your computer have? Alot of times when the temporary memory gets full everything will slow down and will cause applications to stop responding.
It can also be your hardrive is too full. The more space you use on your hardrive the slower it will go and if you fill it too full it will also make programs stop responding.
