The main cause of these mixers failing is the carbon brushes, which are located in the left and right sides of the unit. remove the two plugs on either side and visually inspect that these are not worn. also make sure they go back in correctly because they will only work one way. after inspecting these you can take off the back of the unit and inspect the wiring all around the main board, burned wires are frequent as well. if you see no black or burned wires it is most likely your board which is a part number 416232. hope this helps

Thanks

My kg25h7x varies the mixing speed on its own

The Kitchenaid uses a centrifugal switch to maintain a constant speed. This must be sticking to cause this. You mixer will need to be disassembled and inspected.

My KitchenAid mixer clicks when I mix bread dough and any other thick batters. How do i fix it?

Make sure your dough hook isn't bent.... or your bowl doesn't have a dent in it.... and make sure the bowl is properly seated and secure.

Leaks oil when mixing. the area where you put the beaters leaks a small amount of oil only when mixing.

The grease inside has liquefied instead of being a paste. This can happen by over heating the mixer, keeping near a heat source or a bad gasket. I suggest getting it repacked with grease and replacing the gasket before you start to ruin the gears.

Also the grease although not something you'd consider edible is food safe.

The most common part to fail in this mixer is the worm gear:

K45ss mixer works fine except when whipping cream there are small black specs appearing in the bowl that probably have gone unnoticed with darker mixtures. I suspect some type of oil leak

Yes this is probably a oil leak. it can come from two possible location one of which can come from the transmission gasket that goes around the mixers center seem, if this is broken, worn or improperly seated it will need replacement. part number for the transmission gasket is 4162324. another possible location is around the cirrcular mixing gear at the front of the machine. if the seal inside the unit are damaged or worn this can cause oil to leak striaght down into the very food you are preparing. part number for the seals are 3180163. there are 4 of them, and they would require taking apart the whole unit. hope this helps.

Thanks

Check the motor brushes. You'll see two black plugs with flathead screwdrivera small one, Unscrew to check, if only springs or very worn, youll, know. Its a maintenance problem.
