Question about Kodak EasyShare V705 Digital Camera

Open Question

Kodak easyshare v705 turns off imediately when turned on

When I press the on|off button, the camera makes its little boot-up sound and the lens cover opens, then closes and the camera shuts off. Makes no difference if the camera is charged or plugged in.

SOURCE: Kodak EasyShare One lens won't open - camera cycles on/off

I had the same problem. Even though I was keeping the camera on the dock all of the time to charge it, the solution was very simple - get a new battery for inside the camera.

I bought new ones at a greatly reduced price on eBay. Now I carry one with me wherever I go in case the battery wears out/down.

I shoot a lot of videos, so it really takes a lot out of the batteries.

Here are the steps: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. Any error code there? Its possible that it's time to repair your camera. It's also indicative of a lens retraction. It could be that your battery is long in the tooth and doesn't have enough capacity anymore to adequately power the camera. Lithium Ion batteries do lose capacity over time and going on 3 years, a simple replacement of the battery could solve the issue.

SOURCE: Error de camara numero E45

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

My kodak v705 always show a error e45 when we turn on what will i do to fix my camera?

This is not a good error to get. It means the lens is stuck. For people where the lens is stuck open, sometimes they fix it by tapping or slapping the lens while turning off. But you say when turning on? You can still try the tapping trick to free what is stuck. It's not very useful advice but it's better than you'll get from the Kodak website
http://faqs.kodak.com/101_en/FAQ_96_10328.shtm
which pretty much says "you're screwed, you'll have to send it to us to fix it".

Or words to that effect.

This is a lens error. KODAK suggests a repair for this fault.
However due to spare part shortage this model is no longer repaired. Instead KODAK offers a trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price.

Kodak z740 will not turn on

I may be able to help with your Kodak EasyShare Z740 that turns itself off.

It may be a 'lens extending' problem, or it might be fixed with a combination of button presses to reset it while turning it on.

Try these steps to fix your camera.

I hope that helps.
