Question about RTO Hera 4-Level Touch Dimmer 110 Volt
Stopped working this week. About six years old.
If what you are refering to is a touch lamp where you touch the base and the lamp changes brightness ... if it just stays on full brightness all the time .. then thats a shorted triac .. that a transistor like part inside the unit .. they frequently go bad when a light bulb burns out ... when you see a bulb burn out you will someitmes notice a very bright flash ... thats the tungstun filiment evaporating and making a highly conductive atmosphere for a second .. huge amount of current can flow for this brief period .. that often damages solid state devices like yours ... unless you are handy with these kinds of repairs then you might just want to purchase a new touch dimmer replacement circuit ... usually available at large hardware stores ..
