I HAVE A 6200 PRINTER COPIER SCANNER..IT IS STUCK ON COPY AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO GET BACK TO PRINT

You should be able to find a white sticker on the bottom of the printer. The serial number will be there as well. If you have the PCS 1610 than follow the uninstall instructions given by Hp at this link:

Than go to the link below and download & install the 1610 software: HP Full Feature software/driver: No Network Support &

That should fix your troubles. Look at the fixes while at Hp and if you feel you need other upgrades now would be a good time to download.

Forget the scanning software form HP. This solution below works! At least untill HP do something to solve this. Windows Vista offers a built-in feature, named Windows Photo Gallery, that allows for scanning without using any imaging software. Follow these steps to scan with Windows Photo Gallery.

  1. Make sure that the product is on and that the USB cable is connected correctly.
  2. On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif ), click Programs , and then click Windows Photo Gallery .
  3. In the Windows Photo Gallery screen, click File and then click Import from Scanner or Camera .
  4. Look for an icon that represents the product.
    • If no icon appears on the screen, go to Solution five: Fully uninstall and reinstall the HP software.
    • If the icon does appear, click the icon and then click Import .
  5. Make any necessary changes to the settings on the Import screen and then click Preview .
  6. If the preview of the scan looks correct, click Scan . The scanned image imports into Windows Photo Gallery.
    • If the scan was successful, use the Windows Photo Gallery wizard to scan instead of using the HP software. To use the HP software, continue to the next solution to continue troubleshooting. However, it is not necessary to do so.

Scanning
Use one of the following three methods to scan a document. Method one: Scanning with Windows Photo Gallery

  1. Click the Windows (c01367376.gif ) icon.
  2. Click All Programs .
  3. Click Windows Photo Gallery .
  4. Click File , and then click Import From Scanner or Camera .
  5. Click Import .
  6. Click Scan .
Method two: Scanning with Windows Fax and Scanning
NOTE: This feature works only with Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows Vista Business, and Windows Vista Enterprise.
  1. Click the Windows (c01367376.gif ) icon.
  2. Click All Programs .
  3. Click Windows Fax and Scanning .
  4. Click New Scan .
  5. Click File , and then click Scan .
Method three: Scanning with Paint
  1. Click the Windows (c01367376.gif ) icon.
  2. Click All Programs .
  3. Click Accessories .
  4. Click Paint .
  5. Click File , and then click From Scanner or Camera .
  6. Click Scan .

Step one: Reset the All-in-One

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the product.
  2. Without turning the product off, unplug the power cord from the outlet.
  3. Wait 60 seconds, and then connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet. NOTE: Do not use any power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords. Power strips and surge protectors can limit the power supplied to the product, which can result in performance drawbacks.
  4. If the product does not turn on automatically, press the Power button (c00636182.gif ) to turn on the product.
  5. Reconnect the USB cable to the product, and then try scanning the original again. NOTE: To save ink, scan the original to a file on the computer instead of printing the scanned image.
  • If the scanner bulb does not light when the product scans the original, continue to 'Step five: Service the product.'
  • If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next step.
Step two: Clean the glass and scanner backing
  1. Press the Power button (c00636182.gif ) to turn off the product.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the product.
  3. Unplug the power cord form the wall outlet, and then disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  4. Raise the scanner lid.
  5. Clean the glass by using a soft, lint-free cloth, moistened with a mild glass cleaner or water. CAUTION: Do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride, which can damage the scanner glass. Do not spray the glass cleaner directly on the glass.
  6. Dry the glass with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
  7. Gently wipe the lid backing with a soft cloth or sponge, moistened with mild soap and warm water. Do not scrub the lid backing. CAUTION: Do not use paper-based wipes because they might scratch the backing.
  8. When the scanner backing is completely clean, dry it with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
  9. Reconnect the USB cable to the product.
  10. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product, and then plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  11. Press the Power button (c00636182.gif ) to turn on the product.
  12. Try scanning the original again. NOTE: To save ink, scan the original to a file on the computer instead of printing the scanned image.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next step.
Step three: Try a blank copy
  1. Load letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the paper tray.
  2. Make sure that there is no paper or other document on the scanner glass.
  3. Follow one of these instructions to make a blank copy.
    • Press Start Copy Black on the product control panel to make a black-and-white copy.
    • Press Start Copy Color on the product control panel to make a color copy.
  4. If the blank copy does not contain vertical streaks, lines, or bands, try scanning

Go into the start up. If Windows 7 go to start then type "msconfig" then go to the name and right click, select "run as administrator". Then select the Services tab, look for "Print Spooler" uncheck it, and then OK, then reboot system.

How do I resolve the error 'failed to initialize selected scanner'?


Lift the lid as if you are going to make a copy of a document.. then whith the lid up turn the printer off still with the lid up turn the printer on and watch the scan lamp .. the light that moves when you make a copy. Verify that it lights up and moves back and forth. If it does not move back and forth the scanner lock may be in the locked position.. let me know

Not able to print, keep saying 1 document on pending. I have deleted everything and still no able to print. scanner, copier and fax is working normally.


Your document is stuck in the printer queue. Usually you can fix this by shutting down the printer completely and disconnecting the power connection then starting over. Depending upon your computer and the software you are using it may be possible to have the computer empty the queue

I have ricoh Aficio MP 1600L PCL 6 network printer (print,copier, scanner) i can print copy but unable to use scanner from my pc. my pc have win 7 professional 32bit OS. the scanner driver & utility CD...


Use the network scanner. It is easier for the users and is much better.
Open the browser writes the IP hosts is then just create new users with their own folder paths (previously shared of course).
If you do not have technical training i beliave it will not be easy for you to do it.

Go to the printer itself and click the wrench icon until you see maintenance then use the arrows under the screen to go to print test page. If test page is blank, use maintenance again to do a deep clean.

Printer stuck on "spooling" when trying to print


Do the following:
  1. Turn off your printer.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, then turn on your printer.
  3. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, place a document or image on the scanner glass, then press Copy/Resume.
