SOURCE: Lens won't focus

It will be a repair shop job to do properly and will cost - lots So bearing in mind the the mechanism is very delicate and the drop may have wrecked it anyway you have nothing to lose I feel in trying very very gently giving the partially out lens a little tug- you cant break it worse thats for sure Try it--------- Then go buy another camera ;-}

Lens is most likely been knocked out of place, that would be the reason why you have out of focus and/or blurry photos. This would also be the reason why you can't retract or extend the lens.

Gently pushing on the lens MIGHT fix the camera, but I would only try as a last resort. Sometimes all that is wrong is the gears get out of place, and by gently pressing on the lens, it snaps the gears back in line, which will bring the lens into working order again.

SOURCE: All pictures are blurred and when looking at screen its blurred

Your camera's Focus mode may be set on Macro Selectable in which case the Auto Focus Range will be "wide: 0.07–0.7 m, tele: 0.4–0.7 m (macro AF)" as quoted in the specifications from www.kodak.com web page for the EasyShare M1033. While this setting is great for a close-up of a flower, anything more than a meter (about one yard) away will be blurred unless you reset your Auto Focus mode back to "normal AF" or "landscape mode"

One of a few things might be happening
1. Photos being taken at high zoom (i.e. 200mm) are susceptible to camera shake, even though the lens is focusing properly. The solution here is use a tripod, zoom out, or steady yourself.
2. Photos being taken without flash when flash should really be used will result in motion blur (which is slightly different than camera shake). This is due to the camera using a longer shutter speed to let more light in, with the side effect being that objects will move while the shutter is open, blurring the picture. The solution here is to use a flash, or take pictures in better light.
3. The camera may be focusing on something other than what you intended.
3. If you are taking photos in good light with a steady hand, and the camera is choosing the correct subject to focus on, then yes, the lens could need readjusted, though this is not a very likely scenario.
If the lens is "hunting" for focus, that could be a sign that something is amiss.
A local camera shop can verify the accuracy of focus for your lens.

There is a focuing ring with electromagnets on it, and it swivels to focus. When sand, dirt, lint, or dust works its way into the lens assembly, it can get stuck, failing to focus.
Spray some compressed air into the lens area to try to dislodge it. Then bump it gently if the compressed air doesn't work. Here is a list of things you can try for a jammed lens:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
If these don't work, your focus ring is jammed and you will have to fix it or have it serviced. Get an estimate first, since the cost of repair often justifies buying a new camera.
Good luck, these tips might help you.

Stopped focusing properly. Now get only black when looking through view finder or on screen. other features seem to be working correctly

A stuck shutter is a common failure mode for some model digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

MY CAMERA TAKES PHOTOS THAT APPEARS SHARP ON THE LCD BUT BLURRED AND DISFOCUSED AFTER DOWNLOAD.....

Your LCD is only a small preview screen. I have on many occasions tested a camera and viewed on the screen. When you view the image on a computer it is enlarged to a much larger image. If your pictures appear out of focus you may have a bad lens. Set your camera to the highest mega pixel rate and retake some test images. If these are blurred you have a bad lens.

Pictures are blur

Hi,

Your pictures are blurry because the camera did not focus properly on the subject.

First, turn on the camera in any picture taking mode (or video mode), then look at the screen or viewfinder. There should be four white corners in the center of the camera display. This is your targeting area.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Aim the camera at your subject so this center area is directly on it.

2. Press the shutter button lightly, not all the way down. Wait for a second or two WITHOUT RELEASING YOUR FINGER. If the white corners turn green, keep the finger on the button and press it all the way.

(Once the screen flashes black, a picture is taken and you can release the finger).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the targeting area turns red and blinks, then the camera has not focused. You can to try to focus again by following step 1 and 2. If a picture is taken when the targeting area is red, then the picture will be blurry.

If there is no targeting area, then you can still focus by aiming the camera at your subject. Now follow step 2. A green box will appear on the subject, then a sharp picture can be taken.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The red arrow that flashes means that the pictures or videos are being written onto the memory card.

Also, try to be steady when taking pictures, because slight hand movement can cause blurry images too.

Page 25 in the DMC-FZ7's english manual will also explain how to focus.

Canon Powershot A75 blurred LCD display

It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair

Blurred Picture in the shooting mode

one of the possible cause of the said problem can be a defective or broken flex ribbion cable carrying signal to the focus motor. the replacement of the flex will solve the problem. othe may be friction in the focus assembly. cleaning of the same will do the job. but in both the cases you will need the help of repair shop.
