Re: Fix ya are morons
Hey ... I dont know about the others, I am just a ordinary guy trying to answer questions which posters post. I try to do the best I can. I try to use life experience and common sense in my answers. Frankly, if you dont like the pictures, dont view them. BTW, this is a free site and you are free to come and you are free to go.
The men and women posting the answers dont select the pictures, I think the pics are selected either by the site or the people asking the questions. In either event, is your expectation really that Fixya has a picture of every device that people ask about? Next you would complain about the color not matching your device! Give me a break!
I have only asked one question here on Fixya ... and I think the site selected the picture ... (My question has never been answered yet, I have supplied more than 500 answers to all types of questions.)
I think most other experts would feel the same
... and what have you done today to make this a better community my friend?????

It sounds like you have a blockage somewhere and the air is not passing over the motor to keep it cool. There is usually a thermostat mounted either on or near the motor. The blockage can be anywhere from the elbow ( the swivel part of your carpet sweeper if you have a canister vac) up thru the hose.If you have a canister vac, use a broom handle to push through the hose to clear the blockage. DO NOT ! use a coat hanger or anything that will cut or tare the hose. There are electrical wires in it that have 120 volts and causes quite a shock !
If you have an upright vac, start with the duct hose that comes from the part with the brush up to the hose and on to the main canister of the vac
If this does not work, take your vac to a reputable vac shop for repair. Hope this helps,
You can go to the Sears Parts Direct website and type in your Model number. It will return both an exploded view and parts list, with pricing for replacement parts. You can also order from them, and they can tell you stock status as well.
It could be a broken handle release, but it also could be the the clamps where the handle asm, and the base hold together came use, this will cause this problem on some Dirt Devils. The top has to come off to check this out.
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=0&thid=632342 Generic problem for all Vacuums Non spinning brush Posted by tillie14 on May 29, 2008 I have a Kenmore upright beltless that suddenly, the brush stopped spinning. Do you have an answer for this? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. On the Kenmore upright the belt is broken and needs replacing and you can take it to Sears / Kenmore or a local vac dealer and they can change it for you or you can attempt to do it yourself, usually it just takes a screwdriver and either a flat or a geared belt for less than $10.00 to $15.00 is an estimate. http://www.sears.com/Customer Service1-800-4-MY-HOME1-800-469-4663 Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead.
