Question about Cell Phones
I am having trouble connecting my Viewty to my PC. I followed the intructions given, installed the software and connected the phone via usb.The LG PC Suite says 'U990 Ready' after i follow the connection wizard.
When I try to syncronize my phone with the pc and ACTUALLY connect it says:
Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)
Fail to connect to the phone,
Please check the COM port and connect in idle screen.
This also happens when i try to connect it to the Music Manager. The phone reads
'Cannot Execute. Conflict with (Startup Wizard)'
I have tried everything i can think of (which is little). I wondered if you could help.
My computer is not a new one. Do you think it is incompatible? It has Windows XP so i assumed it would be ok.
What you need to do is click on the top right corner of your LG Viewty phone which will show all applications running. If you have an 'Unknown' app, click on this.
The problem is that the user guide for the phone is running and you need to click on 'Unknown' and finish the tour or exit.
This will then alow you to connect to your pc;-)

I have been given this advice by LG help line. First do you have a memory card in your phone. If so go to- menu-settings (looks like a cog) phone settings- connectivity- usb connectivity, set to mass storage.
Connect your phone to your computer, and windows comes up with the usual help screens
This worked for me, without bothering about pc suite and was very easy to do

Simply Change it to mass storage device!

Make sure that all apps on your phone are closed down before you connect, (do this via the 3x3 boxes in top right hand of the screen)
then it works fine :)

Not sure if you have tried this, when using the normal LG software your phone can not be locked when you connect. Ensure the phone is showing the home screen, and is lit then try connecting. For some reason if the phone is locked it will not connect to the PC.

The solution for Your problems is easy - just activate the security option and after that (during the connection with Your phones) enter the code. In my case it works just fine!!!
Your mobile has to be turned on.

I had problem to connect PC Suite to the LG Viewty. But if you close all apps open on LG Viwety, then connection does not fail. As mentioned above top right corner on Viewty screen has small button, Click here and you will get the list of open apps, close all.

When I connect my LG Viewty to LG PC Suite and attempt to go into Contents, it causes an error message saying: "Invalid memory location".
I have used the PC Suite with my LG Viewty before, and it worked fine, but I can't seem to make it work anymore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem and was told that it can not be solved BUT....
the answer is:-
The current software does not work . . call LG and they will point you to a download page . . its really easy to follow .. and it installs a new version of "LG PC suite 2" . This works just the same as the old version but looks better !!!!!
Hope this helps
