Question about GE Dryers

1 Answer

GE Electric dryer doesn't produce any heat. Before the heat totally went out, it would not self-regulate itself to stop producing heat. We would need to turn it off manually. Can you please tell us what you think the issue is and the estimate for the cost of this repair.

I do not know the cost of repairs, but it sounds like your thermostats, and or the timer switch is faulty.
You will need to contact an appliance repair man in your area to determine the cost of repair.
I hope this helps

My dryer spins and heat just a little but not enough to dry any clothes

Need to change the heater filament. The heater filament has several portions to produce heat. As it ages, some portions are not producing heat anymore hence the total heat produced by an old filament can not put out as much as originally designed.

My dryer does not produce heat Model #pcks443eb1ww

Could be a thermal fuse, which is generally the problem. It's cheaper than replacing the whole heating element. Try that first, or you can even test it, if you have a voltage meter.

You can also check to see if your vents are blocked. If airflow is blocked, it can turn off the flame, and not produce any heat. You can take off the vent hose and turn the machine on to see see if you get airflow, or if the ignitor kicks on the heat.
