Hi there,

Well the problem seems due to broken flywheel key. See if you can remove the flywheel and look at the keyway.
To remove the flywheel - take a nut with the same size threads as the one that holds the flywheel on. With your weak hand, lift the flywheel with a little upward pressure. With the strong hand, tap the nut with a wooden mallot if you have one. when you opened it you will be able to see if that is the problem.

Good Luck!!

Citroen Berlingo 1.9d. 2002. Fitted with DELPHI injector pump. Timing of cam belt & flywheel is by locking

I have been doing research on the Delphi pump and it apparently is associated with lucas/cav and as such is timed by the use of a dial test indicator that, through the use of a plunger and cam, runs on the cam block in the pump and determines when injection begins. Initial timing is to set the flywheel on the injection timing mark and the pump flange mark set on the timing case mark. To get it exact I would recommend that you have a diesel pump shop do the timing using the correct tools. As the pump is not electronic as such (from my research into Delphi ) it is basically a manual injector with a electronic controlled governor. Any way the best advice is to have a pump expert set the timing.

I need to replace one of the front brackets and can't find one

Dear Sir:

Attached is a copy how to fix a bracket.

How to remove flywheel (97):

Put a set of locking pliers on small shaft end (WD-40 or some other similar lubricant may be necessary to loosen the threads on the motor's flywheel.)

Turn the motor clockwise to loosen off the old shaft.

Spin the new motor shaft in a counter-clock wise direction, use pliers to lock in place.

Please the video, and it will guide you.

go to next web, if you need to buy some bracket:

A friend took the flywheel off the motor that I'm trying to get back into my 1999 ford escort. I'm trying to figure out how to re- install it. Does the flywheel go on first then the plate behind...

I"M not bsure what plate you are referring to, I think it may be the locking tab plate for the flywheel bolts, is the flywheel goes on first then the holding bolts go through the locking plate & when the bolts have been tightened up the tabs on the locking plate are bent over the head of the bolts to stop them from coming undone, you need to make sure that the tabs are very secure on the bolt heads, use a small hammer to hit them down unto the bolt heads.......hope this helps.......cheers.

What is the best way to prevent the crankshaft from rotating when loosening & tightening the flywheel nut on a small, single cylinder gasoline engine. I want to change the contact points.

There are a number of ways to lock the engine, there are special tools that fit into four places on the flywheel fins, there are piston stops, you remove the spark plug and re fit this through the plug hole which locks the piston, you can tie a knot in a peice of starter cord, feed this through the spark plug hole, bring the piston up to top dead centre, the knot will come up against the cylinder head and lock the engine, as you see there are many ways, but be carefull when entering anything into the cylinder

How to remove the damper bolt on a 1997 honda

safely raise & support vehicle, lock down flywheel, remove wheel, get a really big breaker bar 1/2 inch drive. a long extension . the apropriate 6-point socket & a jack for all these tools. assemble the socket/extension/breaker bar, set onto the bolt on the crankshaft, support the extension close to the head of the breaker bar with the extra jack stand & use this extra leverage to break the bolt loose by pushing down towards the ground on the breaker bar using the jack stand as a fulcrum. You MUST lock down the flywheel with the right tools for this operation to work. Do disable all electrical before you start this operation to avoid injury from accidental starting of the vehicle.

Acess to fly wheel bolts

If you cannot turn the engine to get access to the bolts, you will have to remove the converter with the engine as an assembly. It will get messy with trans oil.
