Try this Normal 0 Go to Control Panel.
1. Click on Keyboard.
2. When the Keyboard Properties come up, CLICK on Key Settings.

Samsung N130 keyboard has no numky key

Usually numkeys can be attained by combining it with "Fn" key + Function keys. They are marked in different color as they are programmed for a special function.

If you see "Fn", try look for "NmLk" (or similar) and combine those. Press the same key again to deactivate.

I have a new computer and can not figure out how to get some of the punctuation marks, as there are 4 marks per key. How do I use them all.

Hi there,

The marks are usually made in combination with the FN key or an SYM key that you need to press first before the key..

Open notepad and experiment on the combination.

Hope this helps,

Whenever i click on g i get g5 and when i click on h i get h6 same with 5 and 6 i get g5 and h6. Dell nos. inspiron 1520

I had the same issue with my HP Pavilion dv6-3122 laptop. I tried every possible key stoke(alt, shift, fn f11) with no luck. Ended up buying a new laptop keyboard on Ebay for $13. Took about an hour to remove the old keyboard and install the new one. Hardest part was getting ribbon plugged into socket on motherboard.

My old keyboard had a button I just pushed for the calculator function. This new keyboard does not have that. How do I get to the calculator with this keyboard?

Some keyboards are not made with shortcut keys. This is one of them. You may be able to use a program to use a key combination to open it.

Where is the control for changing the language/accents

Changing the input language is something that related to the operating system and is keyboard-specific.

If you're using a Windows operating system (of any version), the default "hot keys" are LEFT ALT key and the SHIFT key. You have to press them simultaneously to change the language/accent. To change this setting to other key combination, right-click the language bar icon on the Start menu, click Settings and then go to Key Settings...

Hope I helped,

Laptop keyboard issues

Is this a laptop? Some laptops will allow you to use these keys as the number pad/arrow pad as well in a certain mode. You will likely be able to turn off with a combination of the FN key plus one of keys F1-F12 (the function key will perform the action shown as a symbol on these keys).

If none of the symbols seems to indicate this mode. Try each combination and test to see which combination sets your keyboard mode back to normal.

Keyboard `problem `strange `dash `appearing

Many programs extend the usefulness of the function keys by using key combinations. The most common combinations are Shift + a function key, Alt + a function key, and Crtl + a function key. These combinations can be very useful. For instance, in Microsoft Word, when any text is highlighted, pressing the Shift key plus the F3 key will change the case of the text from all caps, initial caps, to all lowercase. Shift + F7 will choose the Thesaurus command. These shortcuts allow you to access such functions with one keystroke rather than three or four mouse clicks.

Printscreen will not print

In the old DOS days, Print Screen would send a copy of the screen to the printer.

In Windows, Print Screen sends a copy to the Clip Board.
So, what you need to do is open an application like WordPad, MS Word, Paint or some other program and Paste to a new file. Then you can print the image from that file.

A side note: The PrintScreen key captures the whole screen, the ALT-PrintScreen key combination captures only the active window.
