Hello and thanks for your question. The F21 is telling us there is a draining problem. Something is preventing water from draining fast enough from the washer. Check your drain hose for problems and if ok take the lower panel off the washer after you unplug the washer. There is a round cap that unscrews to clean the large item filter. Use towels or a shallow pan to catch the water. Remove any debris. If this does not get you to your problem there may be a problem with your pump. Good luck

SOURCE: I have a duet sport wfw8300 it does not finish

F21 = LONG DRAIN
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valves turn off.
Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display.

If you had this washer for sometime the most likely cause is Item 4. If so remove the lower front panel place a pan under the white filter (before the pump)
remove the filter and clean and remove any foreign material and reinstall filter.

else

1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump
is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
7. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Replace the pump.

Whirlpool front load washing machine (Duet Sport) is Flashing a F-21 and F22 code and will not spin and drain.?????

The drain is clogged. remove the bottom kick panel. should be 3 or 4 1/4" nuts. open drain pump slowly. you may want to have a container to catch the water and some towels. check drain pump for foreign objects. also check the drain hose. make sure its not kinked or clogged. also check electrical connection to the pump.
if all the above have been checked and the unit still doesn't drain, then you may need to replace the drain pump

you have to remove the bottom lower panel(unplug washer first), get some towels, unscrew the pump screen at the bottom right(may need to use pliers to unscrew), clean screen and put it back. if you take the screws off of the foot plate and remove the foot plate on the back is a plastic bag where the codes can be found..... both washer and dryer are located there. good luck.

the panel below the door has 3 screws under the bottom lip of the panel. remove the screws to get the panel off youll see the pump right in front of you. you can unscrew the cap on the pump and remove it to clean out the punp. thats where 99% of clogges are on that washer
