A little known feature on this player is the ability to use bookmarks, up to 10 of them. Many of you listen to podcasts or audio books which may be fairly lengthy and if you have to stop in the middle of what ever you're listening to, normally when you go back to your player you would have to start all over again.<br /><br />A note about <span style="font-style: italic;">"resuming playback":</span> If you shutdown during playback of a podcast or audio book (not pausing or stopping playback first) your Zen will automatically resume playback when you start it back up.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Zen V Plus Bookmarking</span><br /><br />You can insert bookmarks during playback. As per the company specifications it should provide up to 8 Hours of Continuous Playback. I'd suggest that you set the light out time at 10 seconds keep power saving mode and reduce the brightness. Also dont play at full volume.
This will help you to increase the playback time. Though not up to 8 hours. Make sure not to overcharge the battery.
Also the video playback time is 3-4 hours. As you have not specified whether you are reffering to audio or video playback time, so I am assuming its audio playback time. If its video or mixed then your player is ok..
Audio playback formats:The most common audio format(s) the player will recognize and be able to play. These include:
Apple Lossless: Apple (Mac) format for an uncompressed sound file AAC: Advanced Audio Coding ATRAC: Adaptive TRansform Acoustic Coupling FLAC: Free Lossless Audio Codec MPEG: Moving Picture Experts Group OGG: Short for Ogg Vorbis, a free, open source music format WAV: Uncompressed Windows standard for waveform audio files WMA: Windows Media Audio
make sure all your files are at least one of those codecs you can also uninstall any software then reinstall and start from the beginning as new
Audio: MP3, WMA, WMAPro, WMAlossless, Secure WMA, Audible, OGG (tracks will only be recognized in File and Folder (MSC) mode) Video: MPEG-4, WMV
You may encounter playback issues if the file is corrupt or is not really of the file type indicated by the extension. More information about this player, including useful downloads, can be found at InsigniaProducts.com.
