I would check and make sure there is proper voltage to the unit before I replaced the circuit board but yes they are referring to the circuit board.

Goodman Model GMV950905DX-an electrical surge burned out the transformer which I replaced, also replaced the circuit board. The variable speed furnace will no longer kick into high speed and it will l

If I remember correctly, there are dip switches on that control board that can be set individually. It is possible that it is just a setup issue. The switch positions should be explained in the installation instructions. I know that some Goodman and Amana two stage furnaces can be controlled by a single stage thermostat, but the dip switches have to be set properly. If the switches are set correctly the furnace will run in low stage heat for approximately 5 minutes and if the thermostat hasn't satisfied yet, it will kick in to high stage heat. I hope this points you in the right direction!

Goodman furnuce cycling on lights, burner runs 6-12 sec, kicks out exuast fan runs, cycles through and does the same thing after 2-3 minutes, could this be the thermelacouple?

If your furnace has an ehxaust fan, your furnace does not have a thermocouple, it has a flame sensor. The flame sensor is a small metal rod that is in the burner area. It has one wire leading to it. Your problem seems to be flame sensor. If unit does not sense flame, it will kick off the gas valve.
Turn power off, take sensor out, (should be on 1/4" hex screw).. Probably some white film on sensor. Clean with steel wool, or dollar bill if don't have steel wool. Replace sensor.

I'm not sure of the exact model of my Goodman furnace, but here is the problem. The new furnace was installed this summer (2010) and it is mounted in the space under the house in Big Bear Lake, CA....

I suppose this furnace is fueled by Natural Gas?
(Or is it Propane-- Bottled gas?)

Did the Service company leave you any manual, with your new furnace?
and I would think there was a warranty, for assuring you (the customer) satisfaction, no?
Have you called the people who sold/installed it?
What do they say?

If they did leave a manual-- what does it suggest for narrowing down your possible problems?
Like: Low Fuel-- Low Voltage- Filter Changes, Fan switch problems- or ignition failure problems?

For a new furnace, someone should be right there to do a start-up for you!

Let me know what you learn--

Your furnace is going into safe mode. Check if your gas is on to the unit. You need to check the control board need furnaces have a light blinks and tells you whats wrong with it. www.FastACservice.com

My goodman gas furnace is not kicking on. the light on the unit is saying that it should be working but it is not. there is no pilot light, the fan is working the heat is not

If you are not getting any codes from the board, then the furnace is not getting a call for heat from the thermostat. A wire may have come off, the thermostat not properly wired, or a break in the stat wire. On a call for heat, you should have 24vac between W and C on the circuit board. This will let you know if you are getting a call for heat all the way back to the furnace.

Goodman gds80703 turns on and off intermittendly 3 light blinks

There will be a diagnostic code that will blink on the control board. Look thru the clear window at the control board after the unit does not light up. On the reverse of the front panel, you will find a wiring diagram and in that area there will be a diagnostic code table. Sounds like a bad gas valve.

A 2 month old Goodman GMH95 natural gas furnace has been working properly until tonight. Now it starts up properly, but after 30 seconds (and right when the cirulator fan kicks on) it shuts the gas valve...

Goodman's control boards are very sensitive as well as the connections to the gas valves. Check the wires and make sure they are snug and tight. With it being only 2 months old, I doubt the board is bad or the flame sensor(unless it is a used system). So I would just snug and wiggle the wires on the board and the gas valve and try that.

Heating not working

There could be a number of other potential causes.
1-Ignitor failure
2-vent blockage
3-tripped rollout safety switch
4- tripped limit control
Etc...
Look at the door of the unit for a explaination of the number of flashes of the light. This may get you started in the right direction.
