Try unplugging everything and letting it sit for a few minutes. 10 is a good safe number. Plug everything back in and try again. If this doesn't work, you have a serious issue that microsoft needs to address and fix.

When i press start on the main menu it says (Loading settings "settings" from hard drive. Please do not turn off your xbox 360 console...) and it freezes, how can i fix this?

Ok I have seen this issue many times before , first unplug the console . Disconnect the power cable , a/v cable , controllers , any usb devices , & finally disconnect your hard drive . Now let the system sit for a few minutes , then plug in just the power , a/v cable , & a controller . You should be able to boot your Xbox 360 successfully now . At this point you can either connect your hard drive while the system is running or you can turn it off & connect it . This should fix the issue , if not you can attempt to clear the system cache in the Settings Menu or worst case download the latest update from Microsoft on your Computer , then follow the instructions & place it on a freshly formatted USB Memory Stick . Then place the USB Memory Stick in the 1st USB Port on the Xbox 360 & boot the console .

My screen goes off control pad starts to vibrate and 2 red lights flash then fan stops???but have opened it up and cleaned it?

This could be a power issue with your Xbox. You could try cooling it down and waiting a few minutes and trying again.

Xbox 360 error 73

Sometimes the easiest way is the fastest way. The signal reset button (the little one to the left of the power button) is also the unofficial reset button for the Xbox 360. With the Xbox turn off, press this button and keep pressing it while you press the power button. Do not release the reset button until you see the system booting up normally. Of course, if there is a permanent or a more serious damage to the system, it won’t work or the error will be recurrent until it is solved. Resetting just clears the error from memory.
