Have a thin green line near bottom of screen

Pixels stuck in the "on" position may revert to normal operation with a little pressure. Use a small piece of tape to show where the line runs and turn your screen off. Slightly dampen a soft cloth and apply gentle pressure to the stuck pixel line. Don't press too hard or you may make the problem worse. The idea is to gently flex the screen material and encourage the pixels inside to shift out of the permanent "on" position. Work slowly, applying gentle pressure along the whole line. Turn the screen back on when you've finished to see the line's response. Repeat as necessary until all pixels are back to normal

Acer monitor has green lines on the scren

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens use less energy and display a clearer picture than the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) displays that preceded them. These new LCD screens now dominate the computer monitor market. From time to time, however, pixels can become stuck and a green line can display on the screen. Removing this line is sometimes possible without sending the screen to the manufacturer for expensive repair.

Locate the pixels that are stuck on the screen. Download a free screen repair software program, such as UD Pixel or JScreenFix. Run the software and allow it to find and attempt to repair the stuck pixels. Turn off the LCD monitor. Apply the damp cloth directly over the stuck pixels and use a gentle pressure to spread the liquid within the screen.

Upon normal boot, the screen continuously flashes numerous colors and you can't see anything. Impossible to log in. Safe mode boot is mostly fine, with some random pixels intermittenly showing up.

Hello,

A couple of things, have you tried resetting the BIOS to default? Also, if you are able to boot to Safe mode, I would run a system check from the control panel to make sure nothing else is causing your problem.

Good Luck

LCD monitor have Vertical lines and black colour become greenish

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

My Ibm Laptop r51 has a vertical lines on the screen

The lines appearing on your LCD means it has a defect on the screen.

There are 3 types of pixel defect
1) dead pixel - pixel is always off
2) stuck pixel - pixel is always on
3) hot pixel - pixel is on but in red, green, blue or yellow, can also be a light black color

You can try to fix stuck or hot pixels but dead is dead.
1st method, flashing different colors rapidly:
JSScreenfix.com has a great tool. This is their free java applet or you can download it below.

2nd method, applying pressure to pixel:
Damp paper towel, Small stylus or dull pencil.

3rd method, tapping the pixel:
Pen with cover on or another small, blunt object.

If your laptop is still under warranty, get it replaced. If not you are looking at the most expensive part in a laptop to get replaced. (LCD screens on laptop is roughly equivalent to 40-60% of the total laptop cost

Please rate this if it this helps.

Dead pixel

Dead pixels cannot be fixed, each pixel is controlled by a transistor that is part of the LCD screen. If it is bad, the only option is to replace the LCD screen.

Black lines appeared on the screen

im sorry but it seems thats the screen had a dead pixel from when you bought it, the dead pixel has then since killed off the surounding pixels and they in turn have done the same. this sometimes forms a line but in some more unfortunate cases the screen can lose visual on both x and y axis's.
unfortuantly your manufaturers warrenty will not cover dead pixels as they are so common and there is a torrerance for them without doing harm, but some times dead pixels can spread.

hope this helps.

Laptop screen issues

This is a bad pixel sensor. Your screen has hundreds of vertical and horizontal pixel sensors on the edge, if one goes out on either end it causes a dead pixel line through the screen. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to replace the screen. If you can live with the annoyance, I've seen screens last for years with a pixel line without any other problems.
