It could be the drum belt and or the drum support rollers. both are wearable parts. look for cracks in the belt, if there aren't any it is likely ok. try replacing the 2 drum support rollers.

The dryer squeels when operating and I put some belt grip on the belt. It helped for a little while but now it's worse than ever. The belt feels pretty snug. ???

This could be a few things. The idler pulley or drum rollers are the likely problem. Both are easy to check and replace. The belt should be replaced at the same time. Here is a couple links that should help

Squeeling noise as dryer is running

The belt tensioners pulley has a worn bearing. Replace the belt along with the roller for the tensioner at the same time. Remove the top panel then the front panel to remove the drum to access the worn items

The belt is loose and is most likely due to the belt being stretched out. Replace the belt and the tensioner also to solve this squeal.

Dryer making a high pitch squeeling sound when

The idler bearing that keeps tension on the belt is going out due to heat leaching the grease out of it. Have it replaced.

Whirlpool dryer, elctric runs but squeels. sometimes it stops squeeling once it's run for a while but lately it seems to do it the whole time. it does get quieter after it's run for a while

sounds like your "Drum Glides" need replacing, open the door and cheat the door interlock and you should be able to hear it closer by bottom of drum by lint filter if yours is located there depending on model

Squeeling sound on spin cycle

This sounds like the same problem I had with my 887-327. It seems that coins can fall into the water pump from the bottom of the drum. I had to pull the water pump off the direct drive and turn the blades until the dimes came out. After I reinstalled the pump everything was quite again.

Dryer is making a loud squeeling noise when running

This is probably the drive belt slipping on the drum or motor. There is usually no adjustment on these and it is a case of replacing the belt. If you take the top off the machine, you may be able to look inside while it is running (KEEP CLEAR OF THE ELECTRICS AND DO NOT DELVE INSIDE WHILE THE MACHINE IS IN THIS STATE!) and see the belt slipping. If it is, it's probably time for a new belt
