Question about Washing Machines
If it is 20+ years old the spline inside the top of the agitator is likely stripped. it can be replaced or you can get a complete new agitator for around $50. great old machines. if you take off the cap at the top of the agitator and there is no bolt, then you can just pull the agitator off. it will likely be hard to remove, stuck with built up soap scum. use a leather belt under the bottom and pull straight up and keep you chin out of the way.
