Why doesn't anyone ever contact support - you know, Microsoft support- the makers of your player- that's what the screen is telling you to do. They'll probably tell you to go to Zune.net and run the Recovery tool.
The 30GB can be saved - read Microsoft's press release on Zune.net for instructions on fixing your player. It was hit with the so-called Z2K9 problem.

Following up my last post:
I tried the reset process a few times and that didn't work so I called Microsoft support and they told me that the only thing to do is to send it in for repair/replacement. Thankfully, the Best Buy where mine was purchased has a thirty day return policy on defective merchandise and I'm still within that window so I'll be taking advantage of that. I hope everything works out for you guys and that Microsoft fixes this problem.

Use Windows Media Player. It should see your Zune and you should be able to sync it that way. If not, then try hitting your "My Computer" button on your desktop or your shortcut menu. You should see your Zune on that window once your computer sees it. Then open your "My Music" folder in a separate window, drag and drop the music you want in your Zune, and you should be good to go!
