The black and white wire are the leads for the built in wireless card for internet and networking. Below is the manual for that particular laptop. The wireless card is accessed from a small panel on the bottom of the case. Usually held in place by two retaining screws. Lift off this cover, if you see a single card or slot with one bright retaining clip on either side, that is the wireless card(or slot if empty). The wires attach to the two small round sockets on the card. It is called a mini-pci card. Your manual is below, make sure to save a copy for yourself for future reference.....

I have a hp pavilion dv7 and the power socket has come a lose i need to know which wire goes where.....

The DC Power Jack that the AC adapter (Charger) plugs into?

Look into the DC Power Jack with a magnifying glass and light you'll see it's a center pin surrounded by a barrel. Barrel has an inside and an outside.

1) Center pin. Gold and buried down in the plastic. Connected to WHITE wire at motherboard connector.

2) Inside barrel has 4 Brass fingers.
Orient the laptop so the LED is at 12 o'clock and you'll see fingers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock.

These fingers carry the + 19 volt power to computer.
The ones at 6 and 9 o'clock do, Noon and 3 are not connected.
+19 Volt power arrives at motherboard connector on RED wire.

3. Outside barrel has six brass fingers, at 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10 o'clock.
2, 3, and 4 are not used,
2, 8, 9 and 10 are the power return (common, or ground) to computer.
It arrives at motherboard on BLACK wire.

4. LED is connected to YELLOW wire and controlled by computer.
Other side of LED is jumpered to a Black wire,(Ground), outside barrel 8, 9, and 10 o'clock.

Vertical lines have appeared on my hp pavilion zd8000 can u tell me how to fix it please?

Connect an external monitor to your laptop. If the problem appears only on the display of the laptop and not on the external monitor in the same time that means the video card is ok and the problem could be : the screen of the laptop or the invertor or the cable that attaches the screen to the mptherboard. If the problem appears on both screens, external and laptop, most probably the video card/motherboard is defective.
Have it checked/repaired by a professional.

HP Pavilion zd8000 got my first horizontal line.

A horizontal line on your LCD display is either caused by the video chip on your system board or the LCD screen itself. Either way it will not cause you to lose data on your hard drive. It is a video problem.
By connecting an external monitor from a desktop PC to the back or side of your notebook and switching to it by using your function keys (see manual), you can see if the problem is also on the monitor (meaning video chip problem) or stays only on the notebook LCD (LCD problem).
The video chip problem means you will need a system board. The LCD problem means you will need a new LCD panel. In rare cases, reseating of the ribbon cable on the back of the LCD panel will fix the red line.

I have laptop dell inspiron 9300 it 17 sreen , it has a white verticle white line about on the middle about inche 1 1/8 wide hohow to fix? thank you...very much

Unfortunately, there is no way to fix it.
This line called "Tab Separation" of LCD.
You'll need whole new LCD display.
Very very common problem.

Hi,
a power surge could have caused this problem, as you so rightly assumed. motherboards-cpus et,c. are prone to fail or malfunction. even with static electricity.
it could also be a sign that, the tft ( screen ) has faults or the cfl (tube) or inverter have suffered damage.
