Try calling them directly, AOL uses software which messes with your TCP/IP settings and not compatible with other ISPs like Verizon, NEtZero, etc...

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Im unable to co nnect to the server code error 52230

Hi there! Welcome to FixYa!

This error is usually caused by a conflict with the firewall of your wireless router.

To solve this error:

  • If you are using America Online (AOL) broadboad, you may experience problems connecting the Wii console to the internet. Please contact America Online for more assistance.
  • If you are using wireless routers with Comcast firmware, you may experience problems connecting the Wii console to the internet because of incompatibilities with the Wii console.
  • If you are using a Netgear wireless router, disable the SPI firewall setting which is usually found under the WAN Settings of your wireless router.
Hopefully one of these options will work for you! Good luck!

Once signing on to AOL, I cannot stay connected for very long. I continually get kicked off; time and time again.

You are having a problem with AOL's connectivity program. I have had nummerous issues with AOL's software and they do not seem to be too concerned about the few people that use it but are having issues with it. Just don't go hog wild and start messing with your router settings or your network. It is an AOL problem and not your computer. If you are having no problems just running Internet Explorer and are not getting kicked off then your answer lies with them. It got so bad for me, I use IE8 and access my AOL account off the internet browser. I've had AOL work in some computers and I have been unable to get it to work in others....there is always 100 different answers as to why but AOL is unable to take the blame and would rather pass it on to your network settings. The only thing I have been able to suggest that has worked is completely and thoroughly uninstall everything aol, and reinstall the software. Now, when I say completely uninstall, I mean download a program called "Revo Uninstaller", it is free from www.download.com. Just put the name in their search box and it will bring it up. run that program and choose option (4) when you want to unistall something. Make sure though if the program asks if you want to reboot, you answer no. You will reboot after you get rid of everything. Just answer yes to everything the program asks. Reboot.....re-install

Need settings to get bekin adsl router to work on aol

Go to AOL's website or call AOL for support as only your ISP knows the exact settings for your modem/router.

Router and Aol server not conected.

With AOL make sure you have set these values in the Netgear
ADSL settings as PPPOa
VC 0,38
MTU setting to 1400

If you still have problems

Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> select AOL Connectivity
click Add/Remove -> use the repair option

Follow instructions to repair.

Once complete make sure modem is configured and switched on and
try restarting AOL.

It will search for your connection, find it and allow you to log on.
Configuratin instructions can be found here

Connecting Ipod touch 8(GB) to Wi-fi

netgear support software could be bad. The ipod might not be able to read signal. umm try restoring the ipod. then plug it to your computer let it recognize it and then before you add ANYTHING to it, go straight to the setting and put in the router number and everythign and see if it works. I know people hate it but restoring it usually works. Its just simple small virus's that hit your ipod through songs and stuff and it eventually makes everything stop working. So get back at me let me know if restoring it worked.

Have you tried resetting the router back to factory settings using the small hole in the rear? This will default it back as it was when you first got it.After doing this you would have to put all your original settings back into it though.

What exactly is the problem? Are you using Cable or DSL internet? Did you connect the cable from the modem to the WAN port on the router and the computer to the LAN or 1 port on the router?

AOL DSL Plus

AOL DSL+ now uses PPPoE for authentication bypassing the client software. To set up your router: Step 1 Log into the web-based configuration of your router by opening a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape and enter the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). Enter admin for username and then your password (blank by default). Configure the WAN side to use PPPoE. Please consult your manual for login instructions since all routers are not the same. Step 2 Enter your screen name followed by @aol.com for the user name. Enter your AOL password in the password box. Step 3 You will have to set the MTU to 1400. AOL DSL does not allow for anything higher than 1400. Step 4 Apply settings. Step 5 Unplug (turn off) the power to the modem and router. Wait 1 minute and then power on only the modem. Wait about 1 minute and then power on the router. NOTE: If you connect to the Internet with a different Internet service provider and want to use the AOL software, you can do that without configuring the router?s firewall settings. You need to configure the AOL software to connect using TCP/IP (LAN). Contact AOL for more specific configuration information of their software.
