Question about Washing Machines

I need to extract a dime that found its way into the outlet pump on the right side rear of my Oasis model number 110.27072604. There are no manuals for this unit online. Are there any how to guides that can walk me through breaking down the pump so I can extract the dime that rattles around during every rinse cycle?

The first reply gave me a general idea, but the schematic was sub par. I need a detailed and sharper image of the pump area. I am really angry that Sears in their infinite wisdom have not printed a repair guide for this model HE washer. Please help!

Sorry, no glass door on this model. Are there no schematics or diagrams of this particular model? How did they assemble it at the plant?
    Intuition?

On the surface, this solution may prove to be viable, however, until the manual arrives we will reserve judgement until that time. But thanks for the effort, your time was appreciated.

You need to unplug the machine from the mains and turn off the water supply. Then remove the lower cover, looking at it from the front where the glass door is, so you can see the water pump. On the water pump there is a round cover, turn it counter clockwise to get it loose, then the the filter will come out. You may find some interesting things in there! Small coins, gum, paper, clipsm nails and jewellery are normal. Clean it thoroughly and screw it back on. Make sure the machine is powered off at the mains for 30 minutes in total to reset the computer and clear the fault display. Reconnect the mains power and turn the water supply back on. The machine should now operate correctly

If the pump is at the rear of the machine then you may also need to remove the rear panel to access it. Also if you need to remove the pump entirely then disconnect the water hoses for in and oy and then unscrew it from the chassis.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please follow this procedure to check and remove the drain pump for your washer, also check the schematics--

You will need to drain all the water out of yourwasher by hand. Then tip the washer backwards and remove the lower bottompanel. There are 3 or 4 screws in the front holding the bottom panel on.Once the screws are removed then you can accesses the drain pump near themiddle right area. The drain pump is a black or grey plastic device about 6inches in diameter. There are 2 large hoses connected to the drain pump. Removethe hoses to see if you can see what is jamming the pump. If you find somethinginside then remove the jam and you should be good to go, otherwise you willhave to replace your drain pump motor as sometimes lint will get inside andwrap around the bearing and you can't access it to take it out.

My machine is a kenmore elite oasis mod 27042603 I need a pump for the washer. It makes a grinding noise when it starts to drain. I took it apart and did not see anything in it that might be obstructing...

You can order parts from any of the following websites:

    searspartsdirect.com
    pcappliancerepair.com
    appliancepartspros.com
    repairclinic.com

Make sure you use a complete MODEL NUMBER to ensure you find the correct parts listing. The first three sites listed also include exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying any parts you may need. The Oasis has two pumps. One is a drain pump and one is a recirc pump. The pump you are referring to, I believe, is the drain pump. Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare.

If you do not find your model number listed at all the sites I have provided, use the part number from the Sears site for your search criteria. In some cases, the model number may not be listed, but the part numbers will.

If you need guidance on how to replace the pump, the following link explains how:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r4155097-checking_drain_pump_whirlpool_cabrio

The Cabrio is the Whirlpool version of your washer. Both models are manufactured by Whirlpool and the washers are configured the same, so these instructions should apply. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

A pulled fuse panel for a 2003 Jeep Liberty, there are 39 fuses inside a vehicle. I need to know what these fuses are and what they go to.

The fuse box diagram is a sticker placed on the inside of the fuse box cover. This cover is located on the left end of the instrument panel (driver side). The sticker just uses numbers to indicate the fuses. I will match the fuse number with its purpose:
    1. Power Outlet, Front
    2. Rear Fog Lights
    3. Horns
    4. Headlight, Low Beam, Right

    Washer will not drain

Hello, the drain hose COULD be plugged.
Mine had the PUMP INLET plugged with lint/dimes.

That's right, three dimes and some lint kept the water from getting to the pump.

For even an inexperienced handiman, the fix is easy.
    1) DISCONNECT THE POWER !!!
    2) Open access door in middle of back panel - 4 screws
    3) Disconnect pump inlet hose - pump is on the floor/left as you face the inside from the rear. Have lots of towels handy as water will run out of the tub. This is a simple hose clamp - you dont have to remove the clamp - only loosen enough to remove the hose.

You can tell the inlet hose as it comes from the tub.
The outlet hose exits the pump and exits the machine.

    4) stick your finger into the pump inlet and feel for any debris. I have found much lint and small coins. Somehow dimes get into the pump inlet and make perfect check valves preventing water from getting into the pump.
    Remove the debris.

    5) reconnect the pump inlet hose
    6) replace back access panel.
    7) plug back in and test.
If it does not drain now, you may need a new pump.

For even a handyman with four thumbs, this procedure should take less than 30 minutes !
    Thanks

I need to take case off oasis He washer. Need manual

    hi,
the front of the machine can be accessed by removing the body of the machine. this can be done by putting a screw-driver just below the rim of the body at the top. most of the machines in this series do not have screws on them, but fo check if u have any in your model(you haven't mentioned the model number). then, you can lift off the body by taking it off to the right and left along the lip.

    cheers

Hole in pump caused by coin -- causing flooding

There is no screen! I bet it was a dime that was caught in the pump. It has happened to me several times to the point where we double check all pockets when loading washer. Coins larger than a dime stay in drum or in lower basket. Poor design! I now leave the back of washer loosened and have mastered pulling hose off the PLASTIC pump housing and reaching in to pull out the coin.

    Not draining all the time

I had this same problem with my washer a few years ago. I finally opened it up and found that there was a dime inside the pump blocking the outlet for the water. Sometimes the dime would not perfectly block the hole, so it would work fine, and then the next day it wouldn't work. No idea on how it got inside the pump, but I got it out finally. It could also be a problem with the timer......I would say you should at least call a service company and ask them first.

    Washer making a weird noise

forgot to include the most important step! We got the dimes out after wadding up a small piece of duct tape, sticky side out, and using locking forceps to grip the tape while fishing out the dimes from the drain pump.
