Offline Hi the printer used to work fine, but now is always "offline". I tried reinstalling the driver and making sure "use printer offline" is not checked. The printer works fine on another computer. What gives? Thx.

SOURCE: offline problem...won't print

Unplug it and then re plug it in; I suggest USB connection over anything else; don't worry about self install if you already have done so in the past. In the print > hit properties on the icon for bubblejet > go to the ports tab > scroll all thw way to the bottom and click the "USB" checkbox. and you should be good.

Hi kenjustify!

Let me help you with your concern.

First lets concentrate on your "Cartridge have problem" issue. That message means that the Cartridge of your printer has a problem (Cartridge - is a part of your printer that contains the ink, you may purchase this separately at HP since you have an HP Printer), it may not have enough ink, or its already broken. Both conclusion that i gave needs the cartridge to be replaced. But if the cartridge was newly replaced, you might try reseating the cartridge.

Lastly, on you OFFLINE issue. Just go to "Printers and Faxes" at the Start menu, then double click on your printer inside the Printers and Faxes window, and Click on "Printer" then select "Connect".

Those steps, will definitely solve the issue.

SOURCE: printer online then offline

My first solotution was to reinstall the printer as a new printer. But that is uncessary. The fix is as easy as changing the IP address the in Port.

The problem is the the IP address for your wirelss is not static. and when it changes, the printer does not recognize the new IP address. When this occurs. go the the printer folder ( in the control panel) and click on 'add new priter'. Then select 'add a network wirless printer . NO NEED TO INSTALL THE PRINTER...you just want to see the IP address.

Note the IP address.

GO to the printer, click on the right mouse and select 'properties'
Click on Port
You will see the current port already highlighted.
Click on ' configure port' and change the IP address under "printer name or IP address.
Click OK.
Problem solved

Good luck.

Printer is offline

Hi, turn it's power on. be sure the usb/data cable is connected to the cpu, if still not, remove the printer's adapter and connect it again, power it up again. if not still online, restart your pc.

When you want to print a document, you choose print and select your favorite printer but nothing happens. You look at the printer menu and see the pesky printer offline message and instant frustration. The task of the moment is going from offline to online. With creativity and patience, you'll have your printer back online in no time.

Instructions

Attempt to set the printer to online. This may not often work but it's the first action to take. Go to "Settings" and then "Printers". Right click on the "Printer" and select "Use Printer Online". Test the printer to see if it now prints.

Clear any print jobs. Double click on the "Printer" after performing the above step. Go to the "Printer Menu" and select "Cancel All Documents". There could have been a stuck print job that would cause the printer to go offline. Try once again to set the printer back online and try printing a test page.

Turn on the printer. Make sure the printer is turned on and turn it off, wait a minute and then turn it on again. Check to see if the is jammed. Check all the network connections to make sure none are loose. Repeat the above steps again if necessary.

Restart the computer. If this doesn't work, you will have to reinstall the drivers. Go to "Settings" then "Printers" and select the printer. Right click on the printer and choose "Properties". Under the "General" or "Details Tab" look for the driver button and select it and choose the driver again. You may also have to download the driver from the printer manufacturer website.

Reinstall the printer. Under "Printers" in the "Settings" menu, go back and select the printer, then delete the printer and reinstall the printer through the add printer wizard. Use the latest printer driver from the printer manufacturer's website.

Hope it helps.

I lost my software disk for my wireless printer. I download drivers on line and still can not work wireless. It works fine when its hard wired. But when i unplug it, it goes offline. I have tried alot of...

For that first make sure your wireless network adapter driver is working fine.Try to uninstall and then reinstall . Then check the ping of your wireless printer ip address you can check it in "run " for that press windows key + R key then you can see run type in run "ping 192.168.1.1" without where 192.168.1.1 assumes ad your printer ip. Then press enter then if you get "reply from..." then printer is in network but if you get "request time out or destination host unreachable then it is not in network then check your printer ip address and your computer ip address. Also reinstall printer driver from below link. Click here Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Network printer shows offline on computers but no error message on printer itself

Hi;
Usually when a printer show offline it is either because windows does not recongnize the driver, or the printer is not set to be the default printer, I suggest you try reinstalling the driver first, and check printer settings to make sure the check is there for default printer. IF all else fails try going to control panel and printers icon and click, then click add printer choose the option add a network wireless or bluetooth printer. It should list your printer if not then click The printer i want was'nt listed, then click add printer by TCP/IP address or hostname, At this point you will need the IP address for the printer on the network you are trying to use. Enter the address then click enter, the system should find the printer on the network.

Problem with hp officejet4315v all in one

Hi there check that the data cable hasn't fallen out if not change data cable. If still not working check that you are using the correct port within the driver .
  • Goto Printers and faxes
  • Make sure that the printer states Ready not offline
  • If states offline Right Hand click and select use printer Online
  • If not above right click and select properties
  • Once in properties select Ports from the Tab at the top of the window
  • Make sure that you are using the correct Port i.e. LPT1 or USB that the printer is connected to.
  • If you aren't change the port by clicking the appropriate one or add new port.
  • If you are on the right port try reinstalling the print drivers
I hope this helps you
Thanks J
