use a clear silicone based sealant (similar to the type used for caulking and in fish tanks) I'm guessing you used CA or superglue, and thats what melted your plastic, you're using too much also most likely.

SOURCE: Harman Kardon speaker jack broken. What to do

if you know how to solder you can just remove the jack and replace it with another one, of course you can ask someone else to do it at a nearby electronics store

Wow, general problem here, but the most near your problem could be, power failure, or the Power adapter is bad, or a energy failure at home, time to buy a new adapter.

SOURCE: taking apart harman/kardon subwoofer

turn the sub upsidedown, carefully remove the clear rubber feet (these are a dome fitted over a mushroom top), using the toothed gripper cutout of a pair of pliers (when closed it is the eye shaped opening visible on one side), grip the mushroom firmly but not so hard as to crush the mushroom and gently ease clockwise and anticlockwise (the mushroom is at one end of a clear plug blocking access to the four screws that hold the two parts together.
Be carefull to use the correct size screwdriver so as not to damage the screw heads as they are tight.
On reassembly, you may need to use glue to replace the rubber feet if the mushroom becames damages during removal.

What cable connects a Dell PC to a Harmon Kardon HK395 sub woofer?

3.5 m/m. Normally it is color coded green. The pink connects the subwoofer to the speakers. Any color will work. Just mark both ends of wire jacks.

Hi. We have a Harman Kardon DVD and AVR and a Proline TV. When playing DVDs the sound from the AVR is not playing all tracks (usually the voice track is missing) - just background music and the odd door...

Your HK DVD probably has outputs for left and right audio and video (possibly color coded red, white, and yellow). These should connect to the corresponding DVD (or VCR) inputs on the rear of your AVR. When you play a DVD with your AVR set for DVD/VCR input, you should hear all of the stereo audio (there are no "missing tracks"). Next, review your speaker connections. They should be connected + terminal to the corresponding + terminal on the AVR, etc. One or more speakers may be connected backwards. If your AVR has speaker system A B provisions, be sure that speaker (system) A only has been selected.

Suburu radio wire harness. trying to match up with a new soni deck

Hello uze7, Here is the wiring match up for a 2009 Subaru Forester using the Metra 70-7552 wiring harness: NOTE: The actual harness will be listed as a Nissan harness, but has been used by Subaru since 2007. Also, I'm assuming that your Sony deck uses the standard color code. If not, you should have a manual that lists the function along with the colors. Match the wiring by function, not by color (although the colors may be the same). 2009 Subaru Forester Radio Wiring Color Code: Battery BLUE/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Accessory YELLOW/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Ground BLACK (-) RADIO HARNESS Illumination VIOLET (+) RADIO HARNESS Dimmer BLACK/WHITE (-) RADIO HARNESS Power Antenna YELLOW/BLACK (+) RADIO HARNESS LF Speaker (+) BROWN LF Speaker (-) BROWN/WHITE RF Speaker (+) BLUE/WHITE RF Speaker (-) BLUE/YELLOW LR Speaker (+) WHITE/BLACK LR Speaker (-) RED/YELLOW RR Speaker (+) GRAY RR Speaker (-) GRAY/RED Metra Harness: Yellow ? 12V Constant Red ? 12V Accessory Black - Ground Orange ? Harmon kardon speaker cable

you mean the 1/8" headphone jack? yes you can rewire it, its really simple. you can get them at your local radio shack usually for a outragous price. or you can go buy a cheap set of headphones and cut the wire, strip them, and attach them together and be fine. for a harder but better solution. you could even go out by a 1/8" 10' patch cable and cut one end off. just solder the points on the inside of the speaker as well. where the original wire was located (might even make it easier to diagnose + and -).

thanks and hope this helps

i believe that plug is special because it feeds not only audio signal but also voltage to power the speakers. so unless u know that the speakers will get power from the plug, it will probably not work
