Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T1 Digital Camera

My camera has been a gem for five years now. I know I should upgrade but I LOVE my little camera. Now, however, when I take a picture, the review screen shows a mostly white, opaque screen with only hints or shadows of the image that I wanted to capture. I have pressed the reset button but to no avail. I have cleaned the lens. It produces the same image regardless of the presence of the flash. Here's the weird thing - the video function works perfectly! images are great, sound is great. It's just on the still photo function! I'm a shutter bug, please send help soon!

Screen is just seris of colored stripes which reproduce on card

The sensor has failed due to age, a very common fault on all older digital cameras. Repair is totally uneconomical as it is a professional job only and spares are almost as rare as **** **** and may well have the same age-related fault even if you can find them. Sorry, but your camera has done fairly well to last around six or seven years and now must be replaced.

You have light leak somewhere to the film.
Usually from the bad film door seal.

Fuji FinePix 2650 slowing down

I would say that if you've had the camera for five years, it's possible that it could be wearing out. My first inclination would be to tell you to try lithium batteries but from the sounds of it, you already have. If that hasn't worked, then it may be time to try a new camera. There are a lot of really nice cameras out there for $200 or less. They'll have a lot of new features and the resolution will be clearer.

It seems to me that I read in the manual somewhere that the 'file uploader' program can be used for this.
