The ceramic goes into the seal plate with the white part facing out. The spring part goes on the motor shaft with the metal end facing out, and the side with the carbon ring facing in, so it meets with the white ceramic. Use a bit of lube on the rubber parts of the seal, but try not to get any on the ceramic or carbon ring.
Check for restrictions in the motor, Pull the drawer all the way out, fold the side racks out of the way and lift the wire basket out of the tub. Lift the wash arm off Then twist the plastic ring and the lower metal plate will lift out. Grab the motor and twist anti-clockwise and pull up to remove, Check for anything stuck under there and look for any damage to the plastic on the tub or impeller. If the impeller is damaged you can either put up with it as it is or replace the impeller. e-assembly is just a matter of doing it all but backwards.
Replacing a shaft seal requires some good mechanical ability. first, always make sure power is off at the breaker before you work. You'll have to remove the band holding the wet end to the seal plate. Then remove the diffuser covering the impeller. Remove the cover on the back of the motor. You either need a 7/16 open end wrench or a armature tool to hold the motor shaft while you unthread the impeller (if the impeller has a screw in the middle, you will have to remove it by turning clockwise, left hand threads) counterclockwise. You can then pull the carbon part of the seal off of the impeller, make sure to remove all of it including the metal sleeve. You will then have to remove the seal plate and push the ceramic part out from the back. You can then clean and lube the seal plate and install the new ceramic part of the seal, try not to touch the ceramic with your hands if possible. You can then lightly lube the impeller shaft and slide the carbon part of the seal with the carbon facing toward the ceramic as you thread it on. If the seal plate had a copper heat sink, you can either replace it or use a different size seal. (I believe it's a PS-201) Re-install the seal plate, impeller (and screw if applicable) and diffuser. You should now be ready to mate the seal plate to the wet end. Make sure you fill the pump before you try starting it up, especially with a new (dry) seal.
Had the same problem (apart from the code) and the answer is to stop putting plastic in the machine ! It seems the dishwashers need the heat radiated from the Ceramic plates, stell knives etc to help dry. The plastic simply absorbs some water and then your dishwahser spends most of its drying time trying to get that water out again. Also Plastic doesn't radiate any heat to help. As soon as we stopped putting plastic plates and tupperware containers in, hey presto the dishes are drying again

You would want to use CERAMIC clay. The easiest way to make dishes is on a potter's wheel, but could be done with rolling pin and bowl / plate / cup to form. Roll clay anwhere from 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, using flour or cornstarch to prevent sticking to work surface / tools / forms. Lay clay over form and trim off excess clay. As it will be very soft, you may want to leave it uncovered for a day or two so it can dry out and harden to near-leather hard.
You CAN use your oven to fire (bake), and for safe food / dishwasher use, after first firing, glaze with non-lead, non-toxic pottery glaze. *Careful not to get too thick as glaze WILL run during the second firing.
Your local Arts & Crafts / Pottery store should have all you need to make what you want, as well as DIY help on / with all aspects of pottery for even the greenest of beginners.
I had the same problem, so I took the door apart as explaned above, found it was gunged up with residue from the washihg cycles. Gave it a good clean, while the part was disconected of course, and hay presto! the door works like new again.
