Question about Dell Dimension 3000 PC Desktop

2 Answers

Memory upgrade I recenty upgrade the memory in my dimension 3000 from the 512mb it came with to the max ram of 2gb. When powered up, it gives me a long beeping sound followed by no picture on the monitor. I even switched back to the originial memory chips and still get the same thing. What am I to do? I still have a hardware warranty until 2009. Can I use it to get a replacement? I've had it for about over three years and haven't had a problem until now. Did they lie about how much the max ram is? Please help me because I really don't know what to do.

Hi there, if is still hardware warranty, don't touch it. use your warranty. better to repalce unit with warranty. Beeping sound means memory problem. The problem is in the slot of the memory chips of the board. If the warranty laft, try to clean the slot of the memory chips to the board and the contact of memory chips. It will work seem you were using it before you upgrade the memory. TY

Wont to upgrade graphic card my p.c has 2gig max ram in it wonts should i upgrade to to preform its best cheers mike

Depends on what kind of hardware you have
-Memory- 2 gb ram is "ok" if you use windows XP but if you have Vista or Windows 7 you should have a minimum of 4gb ram.
-Processor- if you have a Dual core processor you are ok, if you have a p4 or p3 you dont want to waste money on a new graphics card because it will not help you get better games, your processor and memory will slow you down instead.
So my advice is, if you have a OK computer, go ahead with buying a new graphics card if you computer is old and slow, DONT buy a new card! put your money on +2gb ram instead (cheap, and gives you more benefits) or maybe buy an "upgrade package" with new motherboard-memory-processor.

Can I do a memory upgrade on Sony VGC -LS 37E?

the specs for your computer, it states that it is equipped with 2gb of memory 2x1gb and max at 2gb, so I doubt that any higher memory upgrade installed would work, or else it would cause your system to crash or even damage it.

I have Acer laptop Aspire 5570z module Zr1 with memory 1GB I want to increase memory 2GB or 3GB Is it possible or not What will be the expenditure?

Your laptop's RAM is upgradeable to up to 4 GB using two DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM modules.

So your upgrade options here are:
1. Buy a 1 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 2 GB (Price around US$ 25).
2. Buy a 2 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 3 GB (Price around US$ 45).

I have a dell dimension 3000 and i want to upgrade ram

Best thing to do is to go to and run their system scan. It will tell you how much you have, how much it will hold, and what kind of RAM you need.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I need to know how much memory I can add to my PC?

Your machine's max memory is 2GB. It takes several flavors of ram so here is a link that lists the types of memory you can use in your machine.

Note: I don't necessarily endorse or recommend the seller's link I've included, it's simply for illustrative purposes.
