Printing problem: Samsung ML 1710 Laser Printer

Hi Krmani,

The problem is because ink in the catrdige might have almost completed, would request you to get your catridge filled with ink ( black and color respectively), the below link will take you to dial a toner page of samsung, you can callup their head office or can furthur search for a store near to your place with help of map, Samsung tone partners charge your bit more compared to generic brand, if you would like to buy a generic brand just walk in to any ink filler shop near your place that even would do, but for longer and effective output from your printer would recommend you get your catridge filled with samsung ink....

Sounds like the printer cartridge is bad. The first thing I would try is replacing that and then see where you are. The broken line on the right side is likely due to a worn imaging drum coating, common with Samsung.

User manual page 6.17 says:
Horizontal streaks indicate improperly installed or defective toner cartridge. Try re-installing the cartridge.

Good day Sir, These are the possible causes why your machine print the wrong text.

Problem: The machine prints, but the text is wrong, garbled, or incomplete.
  • The printer cable is loose or defective.
  • the wrong printer driver was selected.
  • The software application is malfunctioning.
  • The operating system is malfunctioning.

Power off the printer, disconnect/reconnect the printer cable, power on the printer, reboot your workstation.

If that doesn't work, in Control Panel - Printers, delete the icon for your printer. Disconnect the printer cable. Reboot your workstation and log in. Reconnect the printer cable and see if the printer is recognized. Install the printer driver.

Try to put new cartridge in.If this doesn't fix the problem, it can be that the fusing unit heater roller teflon coating is worn out and this roller needs to be replaced.

Printer samsung ML 1710 do not power on


If you pulled the envelope backwards, most probably you moved one of the paper path sensors out of position. Unfortunately, this is something you should not try to fix yourself, but any experienced printer or electronics technician can help.
