Here is the Link to the service manual. To check the wireless card, you have to remove the hinge cover and remove the keyboard, the wireless card is in a space under that component. Check this card for antennae wire placement and that the wires are seated firmly and that they are not reversed.

If the wires and card check out, go to the device manager, scroll down to the network adapters and uninstall the wireless card. reboot the laptop and let windows install and load a fresh driver for the card, if windows asks to search windows update for a fresh driver let it. Check the internet connection and reboot one more time to make sure the settings stay.

here is the link to the manual....

Connected to wifi but no internet connection

Wireless networks have become an increasingly popular way to access the Internet. Connecting to a wireless network allows you to browse the Internet without having to physically connect any cords to your computer.

Troubleshooting wireless connectivity can sometimes be confusing, because even if a wireless network is not able to bring you to any web pages, often your computer's wireless card will still connect to the wireless network that is being broadcast.

In other words, a wireless network will read "connected" even if it is not connected to the Internet.

Connect to a different wireless network. If there is an alternate wireless network within range of your computer that you legally are able to use (a free public Wi-Fi rather than your neighbor's wireless network, for instance), try connecting to it and browsing the Internet.

If the same issue occurs on the alternate wireless network, you may have an issue with your computer's wireless card or with your Internet browser.

If you are able to connect to the alternate network but still not able to connect to your own, the problem is most likely localized to the wireless network you use at home.

Reset all devices.

The great majority of Internet connection issues can be resolved by a simple reset of all the devices in your home network.

Locate the power cords of both your modem and your wireless router and unplug them (if you use a modem/router combination, simply unplug its power cord) for a full 30 seconds.

Plug them back in and restart your computer.

Try to connect to the Internet using your wireless network after your computer has booted back up.

If the connection still fails, some further troubleshooting is required.

Bypass your wireless router.

If your computer's wireless card is connecting to your wireless network of choice yet you are still not able to access any websites, there may be a connection issue on either your modem or router.

The easiest way to locate the problem is to temporarily eliminate the router from the network. Locate the Ethernet cable that connects your modem to your router and unplug it from the router.

Plug the cable directly into one of the Ethernet ports on your computer and reset the modem in the manner described above.

Now try your Internet connection again. If there is still no Internet access, the problem is most likely with your modem or your computer; contact the technical support department of your Internet service provider (ISP) for further assistance.

If the modem goes online directly connected, your router is causing the problem and may need to be reconfigured. Contact the router manufacturer for further assistance.

Hope this helps

Earlier today I was connected to the internet fine. I stepped away from my computer for a little bit and now it doesn't connect to the internet. The wireless adapter is showing that it is connected to...

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can do so you can isolate whether the problem is with the router , the modem or your pc.
1. Disable / enable the wireless connectivity in your laptop.2. Restart the laptop. Then check if it is working. If not, go to the next step.
3. Restart your modem and router by unplugging the power cord on the back of the devices. Wait for the devices to load, then check if it is working. If not, proceed to the next step.
4. Try connecting your laptop to the modem directly by using an ethernet cable. If it did work, the problem is with the router. Its best to call the manufacturer of your wireless router if that's the case.
5. If step 5 still didnt work when you already connected your laptop directly to the modem, the problem is with the modem itself. Call your internet service provider and they'll do troubleshooting steps on their end too.
Hope this was helpful! Have a great day.

You can check your connection if everything is properly connected.,
MOdem should be on the INTERNET port, The computer should be on the LAN port.
Sometimes wireless security is also causing the problem.
You can check your security by goin to the wired computer.
Open a browser and type in the address bar 192.168.1.1,
No username password is admin.
Click on wireless tab and then click on the wireless security.
Check these settings and then go back to your laptop disconnect and then reconnect again.

It could be a faulty antenna in the laptop's wireless adapter unless something is getting between the router and the laptop and blocking the signal

How to connect acer as5920 to internet

You can connect to the Internet using a cable or DSL modem and connect it to your computer using a network cable or a USB cable.

Basically you need to see what the Internet Service Providers offer in your location. Beware of the costs of the various plans they offer in broadband speed, their download limits and the penality for exceeding the limits etc.

Then read the following info to decide what type of Internet access you require.

If you want to connect to the Internet using a wireless connection then read this.
What you need first is to install the wireless driver for your wireless card in your computer. If you don't have one you need to purchase a wireless card.

Wireless connections to the Internet can be achieved by several methods and it depends upon the method of delivery by the Internet Service Provider in your location.
The most common is by DSL and cable, the modems that are used with DSL and cable connection can have a built-in wireless router. Your computer will require a wireless card to connect to the modem/wireless router and the range is restricted to approx. 100 ft depending where the wireless router is located within the building.

The laptop's wireless card can be a built-in device or a plug-in device eg a PCMCIA card or a USB device. and these can also connect to a wifi hot spot in locations such as McDonalds. Star Bucks etc.

There is another method that can connect into the Internet that uses a USB wireless device that connects to a G3 network, bacically a type of mobile transmission and the device is locked into a specific Internet Service Provider. This method gives a wider mobile range (even across states) of connecting to the Internet but usually at a higher cost.

When you decide which method you choose, you need to consider setting up your wireless network securely to prevent unauthorized access.

How do i connect and get signal?

This is a common problem with Linksys wireless routers and primarily the WRT54G and WRT54GS. For some odd reason they all of a sudden go stupid and forgetful.

The easiest method to revive these routers is to go to the Linksys web site and get the automatic configuration download for your specific model of wireless router.

Hope this helps you

Can any computer connect to the internet?
You said you connected the computer with the cable to the 2wire using an ethernet cord, did it go to the internet?

Do you have a modem connected with the 2wire? (not a computer modem)

Do you have the DSL package or Cable package from Time Warner?

No connectivity

There is a possibility that the wireless settings are not similar for the wireless adapter and the router. You can check the wireless settings of the router from its setup page.

1) Connect a computer to the router using a wire
2) Open an Internet browser and access 192.168.1.1 (or if you changed it, use the IP you have set)
3) If it asks for Username and password, defaults are admin for User name, password for Password
4) find the wireless portion and take note of the SSID, channel, Security type and the password
5) Once you have all that, set the wireless settings on your g card.

There are some g cards that has their own wireless utility. If that is the case, you need to open the utility for the G card and set the wireless settings there.

If that does not work, you can try removing all the preferred network and reconnect. If a wireless security key is needed, you have to correctly enter that to fix this problem.
