Question about ASUS P5VDC-MX Motherboard

1 Answer

I'd bought 8pcs of this mboard. it runs smooth at first. just few months, it gives me headaches. 1 of the board is busted (blackout, no beeps or something i can know if it is ok). another board has a day that will work and a day that will not (blackout, no beeps, or something). and also, 1 board is working fine but there is 1 applcation that causes it to restart. And there is "unknown device" that windows xp detect (even i tried to replace all parts except the board, still the same problem). most of the boards, has loosy memory slots. and has choosy i n DDR2 ram. corssair and kingston works, but geil doesn't.

Hey most of the hardware problehms are due the motherboard 90% and ram8% others 2%

According to my experience i have also faced many of this ......but with Intel MB (box) and Intel cpu (combination)i never had a problem for long period of time ...some of my systems are working with 0error from last 8years

(basically with other MB if you face a OS error it is the most irritating type of fault detection some times it is good and some times it all of a sudden the blue screen and the whole Os has to be reloaded ...the most head ace part)

(we should also see to it that we are wearing anti static while handeling mb ........)

Preffered OS (Win XP Pro 2002 with sp2) at present
let the vista run for a while until you have a best Vista Pro

No noise, no beeps whatsoever?
If no beeps, MBoard may be defective, or RAM might be bad, maybe one of the drives.
You need to d differential diagnosis.
Try removing everything but the CPU and see if it will POST.
If so, add 1 stick RAM, then 2nd stick, then Drive, then ,,,,,, until you find culprit.
If nothing works, would try another "known good" power supply
If that is no go, Mboard bad.

The screen turns blackout then after a seconds it turns back to normal..

Hello,

The problem is the picture board on your monitor, the picture board on the monitor is malfunction, that is why the screen goes off after few seconds and turn back on.

If the problem is a regular one, i will advice you replace the picture board on your monitor to fix the problem.

Take care.

My screen is all blue. When i test the monitor alone its ok. The problem is fron the pc it self.how can i solve this problem

Systems blackout. First to be check is your power supply. Is there a power indicated by a fan at the back of your CPU case. If there's no fan activity, power supply is busted. Replace power supply. If the power supply is good, there should be a beep sound indicating that the motherboard is good. If there's none, isolate the board by removing all devices (hard disk, cards, memory, etc) just to see if the motherboard is working right. Power on again, if there's a beep, you may reinstall the rest of the devices you removed. You may also check your display card.

Hi,
If do not hear any beep then it means that the mother board is dead you can try clear the BIOS by removing the battery of the mother board for 5 mins or by shorting the jumper for clearing the BIOS if that didn't help then you have to repair the board or replace it.

4 seconds long beep

I think that either you have a bad power supply or it is not connected properly. I suppose it could also not be supplying enough power.

Try disconnecting all of the connections to the Motherboard and reconnecting them. Make sure they seat properly. Try a new power supply. You can get a good one from Newegg.com

Boot error / No video out

Ajit,

The beeps are usually due to RAM or key board issues.

I would try by plugging it into a VGA socket of a monitor to see if it works.

Do you have heat problems? one suggestion is to try and reset the bios to default by moving the jumper on the mobo to do a hard reset.

good luck

Smeags.
