Question about Garden
Most of the time it is in the top of the transmission right near where the shifter is. It is a screw in with 2 little flat buttons on top where a plastic connector slides on to connect it in the wire harness. If the shifter of your particular transmission is not on top, locate where it is and the neutral switch will be right near it

percussive maintenance my friend. Try banging on the solenoid and starter with a hammer while in the start position. Also, if you have a voltmeter, you can see where voltage is getting to and that will help you as well.
