My Phillips Big Screen TV is having audio problems I cannot hear anything but the picture is still great. Do you have an solution to resolve my issue?.

I would certainly challenge the fact that your SSB is bad. This SSB is known as the the small signal board. This board is a little larger than a credit card and is seated on top of the signal module( The board with all the RCA jacks and RF connections). It is located inside the TV on the left side of the rear of the TV. I must caution you, the replacement board will exceed any expectations you may have for repair. The cost of this SSB will be near $300 dollars. Then you will need a TV tech to enter the software to correct geometry. This SSB controls the screen size and colors (gray scale) and sound, etc. Sorry to lay the hard core facts. But it will not be feasible to repair this aging TV. I have seen and repaired many of these when they were under warranty! Thanks for asking and show all hands of support.

I have 60 inch zenith inteq projection TV no picture or sound it powers up fine took it to a repair shop tech guy said that a whole board need to be replaced but the board is a discontinued item said it...

May be you went to the wrong place, find another repair shop where they work that brand and type of tv. Doubtless, some parts are discontinued, but they will take parts of another equipment that are dismantled. Good luck.

  • Screen Looks 3D
  • Colors wont align
  • Video may look distorted
Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms
  • Dull looking video
  • White looking video

Exact same problem red, blue, green lines and white bars at top

Your TV needs the convergence amp IC's replaced. The parts are about $60 for the Sanyo Type. They will last longer. Your previous TV Tech is most likely replacing these IC's and charging you for a new board.
Check with your local BBB to find an honest TV Tech. This job should not cost much over $325.

Your Tech is trying to rip you off - it's not the SSP Board - it's the keyboard - part # 313501707611, however, if SSP Board is some fancy tech name for it, then it's only a $15.00 part, $35.00 at the most, but they don't sell them anymore. So he must know something that we don't know....

No power with remote or manual power switch

Your convergence module is probably bad. It is a plug in module, so labor would be lower if the convergence settings are still good. The bill would be about $300.00 If not, the labor for convergence would add to the bill. If the whole job needed full convergence the cost would be about $500 to $600. Hope this helps, Lee
