Question about Philips E-Box FTR9965 DTV Receiver

1 Answer

Phillips plasma 42 in tv thin

It all started with TV going to black and then coming back on in 30 seconds. Now it went to thin line, turned black and stayed off.
When you try to turn TV back on, the green on light flickers and turns to red and shuts off.

Looking for where to find this part

You need to fix power supply module (replace electrolitic capacitor on PCB) in your plasma. It's very frequently failure for this device.

The problem is in your cable connection on the back of your monitor or Box. I had the same problem and solved it by reattaching the VGA cable that was loose.

Philips plasma won't turn on first time

I have found this on a site and am in the proccess of trying to mend my plasma PF9964 as it started to take longer and longer until it stopped coming on. I've got the back off so I just need to un solder capacitors and replace. Here's the info I found. Bad power switch circuit General Comments If you have this problem with your Philips 32PF9964: When I switch the TV on, it appears as though it is going to start i.e the green light comes on, then after about 10 seconds it switches itself off and the standby light flashes red. It takes 10 /12 times before it starts and is getting worse. This is the solution: The problem is three caps. Change the cap 2663, 2664 both 100µ/25V and 2662,1000µ/25V. After you have changed them your TV will work again. You will find them easy if you unscrew the back on the plasma TV. Cheers, Mike
