You really only have two choices here--you can telephone Mitsubishi during regular hours and see what they tell you......I suggest you do this first. SECOND: THEY will probably not tell you but this set has a hard reset---once it is done the set will return to the condition it was when new in the box----all settings including labels placed on inputs etc will be gone---it is usually a good idea to do this only as a last resort..... If you get no good ideas here or from Mitsubishi let me know and confirm the model number to me and I will tell you how to do the reset--it is done with the original Mitsubishi remote. Xerox Phaser 3500 - installed new toner still says it needs replaced. Is there a way to reset the message? We have powered off/on and it still says that it needs replaced.

Hi,
the only way to reset the message is to replace the cartridge CHIP with new one or reset the chip with proper CHIP reseter(but i don't think that you have reseter).
This printer can write on cartridge chip and sometimes when you replace cartridges the printer writes directly the information from empty chip to new chip and that makes new chip EMPTY. This is some kind of bug. SORRY!!! CHIP is cheep so don't worry...be happy

I have a multi pass MP 730. It stsrted to say

Take a look at my tip on cartridges it may save you a lot of time and money

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3845491-ink_cartridge

OR

Read on and see if any applies to you.
Check that you removed the protective tape. some cartridges have two of these pieces of tape one over the head and possibly on on the contacts to the printer.

If you recently re-filled or had the cartridge refilled or even bought one of the many cheaper replacement cartridges you should read on

Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.

Re-filling them will have no effect

If you are lucky you should be able to find either a
chip resetter around on the INTERNET or maybe even local

OR

Even better empty cartridges that
never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference

I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well.

cheaper cartridge problems have been on the rise recently and that is for ALL makes of printer.
If you try to clean the contacts be VERY careful cleaning contacts and ONLY use isopropynol on a lint free bud or cloth.
Also be very gentle.

I have seen the contacts cleaned and cartridges ruined with other methods of cleaning.
Rubbing too hard can also cause a badly set chip to move making it inoprable.

I dont like full prices replacements either which is why I always provide the links
I usually reccomend that people take back any cartridge that does not work right from the get-go.

I dont know of anyone who has had a problem doing that be it a shop refill or otherwise.

No matter if I paid $1 or $100 for a cartrdige I would still expect it to work
Hope this gives you the information you need

It would be very decent of you to consider the quality of our experts answers and judge them accordingly as you pass through FixYa.

Front panel locked and remote don't work

Are you sure there is not a problem with the TV set? The set will need to be on to unlock the front panel. Bypassing the V-Chip Lock on most Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit passcode that is required to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus. If you don't have the passcode, it is easy to bypass. This is neccessary if you forgot the code, purchased the set used, or if you simply don't feel like searching through your files to find it. To bypass the V-chip: You can view the locked shows by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV. To reset the code: When you use the button combination 9 and QV while entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode. Good Luck
