How do you put a router bit in a Makita router model 3612BR

Inserting the bit should be the same on all versions of the Makita 3612 router. It does depend on the bit size. Press the shaft lock to keep the shaft from turning. I think the lock is close to the handle on one side of the router when you hold the router with the bit/collet up. For small shaft bits, insert the appropriate collet sleeve into the collet cone. Then insert the bit completely into the sleeve. For larger shaft bits, insert the bit completely into the cone. Use the wrench to tighten the collet nut securely. Unlock the shaft lock. Do not over-tighten or leave the bit loose in the collet cone/sleeve. Over-tightening can break the collet cone. Leaving it loose can result in the bit flying out of the collet cone. Either way, injuries can occur. To remove a bit, loosen the collet nut and then remove the bit (or bit and collet sleeve).

The manual is available on the product page: https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/3612 . The direct link to the manual is https://cdn.makitatools.com/apps/cms/doc/prod/361/df12a409-2bd0-48c3-aa38-d635a480a76e_3612_IM.pdf . See page 8.

I hope this helps.

Makita template guide does not fit

My Makita router arrived with a couple of template guide bushes of different sizes. The size of guide bush chosen for use with a particular template will be dictated by the template - stock templates usually state the size of guide to be used with that template and mostly these are generally so common sizes a good router is supplied with them, from memory I think the smaller of my guides is something like 17 mm.

Template guide bushes are flimsy and easily damaged and so it is expected router users will be buying spares and other sizes. They are almost universal but not quite and router users are quite adept at minor modifications to make things fit, and not just guide bushes but also router tables, adaptors for various tasks and so forth.

I suggest you take a glance through a few catalogues featuring router accessories, including Makita of course.

My hm0810b hammers softly and smells like its burning

Stop running it! Don't use tools if they smell like something is burning. Often times you'll make it worse and will make the repair more costly. It could be as simple as replacing the brushes.

To check for worn brushes, remove the black metal cover on the bottom. Then unscrew the black plastic brush caps. Worn brushes will be very low and not have mush carbon left, have a broken spring, or may be sticking in the brush holder and aren't sliding in and out well enough.

If it's something more than that, take it in for repair.

I have a Makita HP1621f Drill, and I cannot get the drill bit out, seems like the chuck itself is bad,any ideas on how to remove the drill bit?

Sometimes if you happen to have the right size bit, it will stick into the bolt that holds the chuck on if the chuck wasn't tight enought to keep it from slipping further into the chuck. Clamp drill bit in vice and tap chuck with soft hammer to pull it free.

Drive systems Question

SDS (or Slotted Drive System) bits for hammer drills/rotary hammers allow the bit to slide in the chuck and enhance the hammering action of the tool. For most applications, these bits provide plenty of torque. SDS Max bits are similar to SDS bits, but have larger shanks and come in larger sizes than SDS bits. These powerful bits are useful in industrial applications.
