I have a 115V CH mig/flux welder. I can not get any *********** at all. Has worked fine in past. Am getting gas to the nozzle. Bead looks nice but even with the lightest gage metal, bead just flakes...

Sounds like you have the wrong polarity or wrong gas.
For solid wire: use a gas mix of 75/254 argon/CO2 and ground clamp must be on the negative terminal /pole.
For core wire: No gas is needed but the polarity must be: ground clamp on positive terminal side.
Hope this help.

Welder work OK with flux wire, cannot get penatration in MIG mode

Are you using combination argon/co2 gas? You need a flow regulator and should have it set for about 10cfm. Note that this is different than a pressure regulator. The problem you note is a result of inadequate or improper gas.
