This is the WIndows 2000 NIC driver〈=en&os=181&product=93925 If you are using Windows XP it MAY work but from what I see, the NIC driver should be native to XP. But you can give it a try. Since the Network Card is an Expansion Card, it is also possible it has been replaced already with a different model. If this driver doesn't work, you might consider replacing the NIC as they are generally under $20

#1 You didn't mention what you tried.
#2 As I already pointed out, the Network Card that shipped in that model, has XP native support, so if that card is still in the system, it is likely non-Functional (Hence the device manager error)
#3 Since updating the driver did not resolve, the most likely solution is to replace the card (Again, mentioned in previous response)

Here is a decent card at a good price:

My ethernet port do not work I think my pc missing dell gx60 ethernet controller drivers

Verify if the driver is installed properly for the ethernet card using the device manager. If the device is not shown in the devoce manager, make sure the wiring for the card is done properly and there is no loose connection. If the problem continues, try replacing the ethernet card. If that too fails, there is some problem with your computer mother board

Hoe this helps. Feel free to reply if you have any doubts.

Ethernet controller didn't work

Have you checked your drivers?
Go to control panel - system - device manager
Or control panel - type in device manager (depending on your os)

If there is a question mark beside your ethernet controller than you need to update the driver. If you have the disc pop it in the computer and then right click the ethernet controller and click update driver and then follow the wizard through and that should fix it if the driver isn't there.
If you haven't got the disc you will need to download the driver from the manufacturers site.

Ethernet connection has just stopped working. 80072ee7 error. However, device manager says adapter working properly, orange green lights working/flashing. cable checked to another comptuer without...

Try going into the control panel and then into the device manager. Find the ethernet device and remove it. Then re-boot the computer and the OS should re-detect the card and re-install the drivers. Hopefully this will get the card working again. Let me know if this helps.

Ethernet not working after format and xp reinstall

Right-click the My Computer icon and select Manage, then go to the Device Manager in the list on the left and find the Network Adapter from the list on the right, right-click Network Adapter and select Uninstall. When you reboot, XP should find the Adapter and reinstall it automatically. Another reboot may be required.

If it still will not connect, go to the NIC Manufacturer's website and download the driver to removable media. The Driver Update option can be accessed in the Device Manager, but this time select Properties when you right-click the Network Adapter, and go to the Driver tab.

You may try this: Click Start > Right click on "My Computer" > Select "Properties" > Hardware Tab > "Device Manager" button > Click the "+" next to "Network adapters" > Right click on your Ethernet adapter > select "Properties" > select Driver tab > select "Roll Back Driver" button (third button down on the left side). This will work if an updated driver is at fault.
If the above fails you could then try Right Clicking on your device in Device Manager and select "Uninstall", and after uninstalling reboot and let Windows New found Hardware Wizard pick up the device and try to correct the fault. Otherwise if the Adapter is integrated you can look for updated driver at Dell's Support site, and if added on (via PCI slot) check at the adapters Manufacturer's site for the proper driver.
If all else fails, replace the Network adapter.
Good luck.
