Ok turn on PC, and have that drive plugged into the usb port. Find your my computer icon, right click on it and goto manage in the menu. This will open the computer manager, in the list on the left you will see disk manager under Storage. Click on disk management, in the window on the right you will see the different Hard Drives and Storage devices there. Look for the one that does not have a drive letter and may state unknown. Right Click on the device and Mark Partiton as active, then also format the drive. Viola! you should now have your Pen Drive showing up under my computer.

Try using a tool like Rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/ to format the drive to its full capacity. There are links on the page to other usb utils.

Phyllidee, It may be possible that your PC is not reading the pen drive. use it on a computer/laptop that reads it and backup the data there. Then format it and insert it in your computer. If need be then format it in your computer. If it does not work anywhere then, obviously, the pen drive is bad.

4GB ScanDisk Cruzer Micro was working fine now the storage capacity displays 2x 68MB drives dispite being formated. How do i restore it back to 4GB.

access the drive through administration manager and delete any and all partitions. Then create a partition for the full 4gig drive, reformat and that should give you back your full 4 gig.. Just make sure you backup anything that is on the drives BEFORE you delete the partitions.. administration manager is located in the windows control panel. MAKE SURE you are accessing your usb drive when you delete the partitions as once you delete them you can never get them, or any info on the drive back. If you accidently delete your hard drive partition, you will have to start again with your operating system from scratch.. SO BE CAREFUL...

Cruzer Scan disc won't access information

Maybe one of you have deleted the partition on the flash disk... this is only likely though if you re-installed operating system or were chaging partitions..

if so here's a solution

you have deleted the partition by the sound of it, I accidetly done it once.. try this

click start, right click on my computer and go to manage.. then double click on storage1.gif, disk management2.gif local.. and it should show up here, once you create a new partition on it, format it and your all set..

Hope this helps!

Partition to USB flash drive

I dont think that will be possible as the memory in these units have the operating system on the internal memory. You would have to format the drive and use disk management to do so. But it would render the unit useless.
