Did you wire the speakers in series or parallel? 4 ohm speakers in parallel actually come out to equal 2 ohms wich most amps would see as a short causing protection issues. 4 ohm speakers in series equals 8 ohms which should be fine for your amp. been there : expert-tech / SAM

My buddy had a sony x plod 600w amp in his car pushing two 12's. he sain it never gave him one problem. he sold it to me and after i turn my truck on it has power. it even works fine until i turn it up to...

Make sure the ground is securely fixed, power cable too. Also check the ohms of each speaker and the output of the amp. If you have two 4 ohm subs (2ohm load) running of the bridge of that amp, it aint gunna work. Im sure that amp can only run 4ohm. Try not bridging it.

This is a 4 channel amp that when i turn it a little loud it shuts off.. do you know how i can fix this? my other amp does this too and buts its an eclipse. but my mtx amp works fine.

it could be a number of things; speaker wiring, blown speaker giving overloading feedback, or if you are bridging it, you might have dropped the ohms below the tolerable impedence level.

Hello. I have one (1) XS-L1035 being powered by a JBL gts 180X 2/1 channel amp. The sub works fine if i power two(2) subs thru 2 channels BUT if I try to bridge the power to one sub the amp cuts out. Is it...

It sounds like the problem is with the amp. try using the other sub in bridged mode and see if it still turns it off. If it still turns off then its definitely the amp. In 2 channel mode you are using each channel at 4 ohms right? and in bridged mode to 1 speaker it should be throwing a ton of power on a 4 ohm load as well,it should work fine bro -its gotta be the amp

My bass keeps turning off and on. I can be driving thinking my bass is fine, then it just kicks in. Sounds great but then you can here the bass just shut off and feel the non solid bass.

Your probably overheating your amp from running at too low impedance. Check what your amp minimum impedance is, and make sure you have your subs wired at or above that. Remember, if your running a multi channel amp bridged the minimum impedance goes up. Check the manual and see what the bridged impedance is if your have your amp bridged. If this isn't the problem, check your sub wires and make sure they're good and secure, and not connecting, and disconnecting... Hope this solves your problem

The middle light on my netgear ethernet bridge xe102 wont stay on

-- Xe102 device is simply a plug n play device
-- so if the connection light shut off after some time
-- first hard resett the powerline adapter
-- and after that get the powerline checked
-- If that doesnt work there is no specific configuration
get the adapter replaced ..

Amplifier Issues

HERE is the manual for your amplifier.
It is listed as being 4ohm STEREO stable Bridged.
Meaning the lowest impedence possible on (2) bridged channels is 4 ohms.
If you have a Dual Voicecoil Subwoofer, chances are - it is wired in parallel - resulting in a 2 ohm load.
This low resistance causes rapid heat buildup, and is causing your amplifier to go into protect mode.
There are many reasons the amplifier is doing it NOW as opposed to the prior vehicle...
If you alternator is not giving your amplifier 14V, it must work harder to produce the same amount of power. WORK = HEAT!
If the head unit is not the same, the signal voltage also has an effect. If the voltage is lower, the amplifier has to work harder to keep up at the same "volume" setting.
In any case, you are over-driving the amplifier, and it is shutting down with its thermal protection circuit.
Either lower the gain on the amplifier, or purchas a mono channel amplifier made to drive subwoofers.
Your Subwoofer is craving power, and you're giving it 60W !!

Thank you for using FiXyA - A FiXyA rating is appreciated.

Wiring my subs to my alpine mrv-1000

did you read your instruction manual. does it says "it could be bridged to other amp"?. you can't make a bridge to amplifier that is not bridgeable. bridging an amp is a way which it is made through transistor type ampilfier by bridging more transistor inside and more voltage is required for bridging.
I don't know if we could do to an IC type amplifier. ask an experts about bridging IC types how to bridge maybe they know how.
and if you had an successful bridging, you may have a problem through your speakers, they may hit hard but you will experience some errors through your speakers and easy to worn.

My Kenwood 800watt amplifier

Sounds like you have overloaded your amp. When you bridge you MUST make sure that you still have the proper speaker load. One 4 ohm speaker on one channel is fine, but when you bridge that same 4 ohm speaker, it gives you a 2 ohm load on each of the two channels that are now bridged. If you made the mistake of wiring two 4 ohm speakers in parallel (plus to plus and minus to minus) then when you bridge you will be driving a one ohm load on each channel. This is very close to a dead short. Stop using your amp at once until you get your speaker load correct. This will damage your amp and it will cause you to have to go to a repair shop to fix it. DO NOT RUN YOUR AMP ANYMORE UNTIL YOU FIX THIS. Good luck.
